Our Franklin Chef FIM 200 stopped making ice. An appliance repairman stated parts are no longer made for our unit & he couldn't get them. He said we needed 2 circuit boards because our shorted out due to dripping water. He tried to sell us a used ice maker.

Alan,
Those units are sealed systems. The coolant circuit is evacuated, charged and crimped then soldered shut. In order to complete any Freon changes, the technician has to cut the tubing on the system and work on it. A lot of parts for it are not available any longer.
