Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. I would like to know when you turn the laptop on is it running? Can you see the light that indicates that it is on?

We need to check if this is caused by a LCD or motherboard issue. If you can connect an external monitor on your computer and tap FN + F5. This will toggle the display. If you will be able to see the display on the external monitor it means that the problem is the LCD but if not then the problem is the video graphic that is embedded to the motherboard and to be able to fix it is to replace the motherboard itself.

Please let me know if you have questions. Thanks for using Fixya.

To fix acer 5532 that has power but a black screen (will not boot) do a hard reset ( hold power button down until it shuts off) then hold esc+ctrl+alt ( all at the same time) and push power button to turn on, worked for me

Ok,
1. Completely turn off your laptop
2.Take out power bar (on bottom close to back)
3.Hold power button for 30 seconds
4.Put power bar back in
5.It should now work

My acer aspire 5532 just went black. The power button goes on' but no response whatsoever. Any clues?

Just try this steps

1) Shut down your computer and disconnect the battery and also the Ac adapter which is connected to your laptop, and then once your computer is Off just press and hold power button for at least 15-20 sec and yes do not lift your finger from the power button
2) Reconnect everything Battery as well as your Ac adapter, and try to see if the issue is resolved or not
3) Load BIOS setup Default
4) Try to go to safe mode
5) Do system restore when your computer was working fine

I hope this will answer and fix your issue

What is the cost for a acer 5532 display?

If you're looking for the screen only, you can find it on Amazon, for roughly $95.00 here:

http://www.amazon.com/ASPIRE-5532-5535-LAPTOP-SUBSTITUTE-REPLACEMENT/dp/B003TPND2K

However, prices will vary depending on which retail store you buy it from.

I dropped my Acer aspire 5532 series and screen is black and only makes a notice

Hardware defect - either the screen itself has been shattered or the connection between it and the motherboard has been cut.
The laptop must be opened, tested, the failed part identified and replaced - a skilled job that only a repair shop can do. Beware, it will be expensive.

We just turned on our Aspire 5332 and the screen is blue with a pink and black ink stain river running through the screen. What could this mean?

This would indicate a damaged/failed LCD screen. If the systems is new or covered under warranty return it to the store from which you purchased it. Otherwise you will want to go to Acer Customer Support to get additional help.

Acer aspire 5532 power on but no screen or sound

Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...

How do i use my webcam on acer 5532

You don't have a web-cam on your Acer Aspire 5532. Sorry, I actually bought a brand new Acer Aspire 5532 with Windows 7. It's really nice but that little black circle at the top of your screen is not a camera. I do believe you can have one installed though.

Good luck,
