Hi there I have a 2yr old Maytag double door, freezer on the bottom, Model #MFI2568AEB AND SERIAL #12705168LT and the filter light came on and we were and still are looking for where the filter goes. We took out the ice drawer and took out the spring looking for where the filter goes. We did not find this and now we have no ice, the water comes out the front fine and if I put ice in the drawer and press the ice button it will come out. I was told it stopped cause the filter is dirty...... help....do you have some sort of a diagram we can look at

SOURCE: Ice and water on bottom of freezer

sjlobo, sounds like your defrost drain pan is frozen over or has some gunk in it. When the unit goes into defrost the water is running onto the freezer floor and out the front. Remove the lower bin and check the drain hole. You may have to remove the freezer back panel. If you can, just use some very hot water and some sort of baster to unfreeze the drain. Check this first, Catriver..post back.

Texas, sounds like your water reservoir is frozen up. Remove your 2 cripser drawers, you will see the reservoir behind them. Take a hair dryer and go over the tank and tubing ends. See if the water starts flowing. I find a lot of frozen water reservoirs on these french door models. They have a insulation kit for them. Catriver.

The capacitors on the high voltage board on the back are out. You will have to replace the board.

Maytag Refrigerator

Pull out your WIDE-N-FRESH Deli Drawer at the bottom, and when the lid automatically raises look to the right: you'll find a sliding temperature controller that most likely is all the way up. Slide it down towards the bottom and this will cut back on the cool. Worked for ours!
