GE Gas Range Model JGB900SEPSS. Window has the following message that flashes: locked door. Unable to bake or use self cleaning function in upper oven. When i try to use the bake or self clean function the word door appears in the same window. I turned the power off for about a minute and a half but that did not clear this problem.

SOURCE: hotpoint 30" self cleaning gas range with sealed burners - no bake

It may be the ignitor, they can crack and you wouldn't even see. Good news is they are cheap ($5-20) and they are usually easy to replace. But before you replace it...

When set to bake, does the "oven cycle" light come on? If not, that means no power is being sent to the ignitor. Reason? There is a switch in the oven latch, to make sure a) latch must be closed for cleaning cycle and b) latch must be unlocked for baking. On mine, the switch button gets stuck, so even when the latch is unlocked, it thinks it is locked and will not allow the bake cycle to proceed. Cycling the latch a few times may free it, otherwise you'll need to replace the switch (not that hard but a bit of a pain to get to).

SOURCE: GE Spectra XL44 Gas Oven, flashing "Locked Door". Can't use oven or close door

I had the same problem happen tonight. I have an XL44 self-cleaning gas range. We unplugged it for several minutes and pressed 'cancel' a bunch of times--neither worked. We finally lucked out--opened the oven door and pressed a black button on the upper left side of the front of the oven. It turned out the flashing words and unlocked our door. Weird. There was nothing in the manual about this...

My Spectra XL44 suddenly refuses to ignite the baking portion of the oven - broiler and top work just fine. The day before it was working fine. Wondered if it was an electrical egnition problem - gas feed or what??? Help!! [email protected]

After self clean cylce the LOCK indicator remains in the dispolay and BAKE function will not work. door flashes in display when BAKE is pressed.

Hello. It sounds like the door switch is shorted and telling the main board that the door is still locked. This will prevent the oven from functioning properly. The door switch part number is 74009591. The manual door lock assembly is 74009764. The part number for the main oven control board is 74009777.

Oven door after self clean cycle won't unlock

Both the oven" ON " light and " Clean " light will flash when the clean has finished . When the " clean " light flashes , slide the latch handle to the left as far as it will go , then turn the " OVEN SET " knob to " OFF " to open the door.

Lost instructions - I have my oven cleaning how

Typical oven self clean cycle is 3 hours. Oven needs to cool down to under 550 degrees before door will unlock. Download a use and care manual at http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/

Www.ge.net How to get rid of flashing lock door on JGBP35

There is a button on the left upper corner by the door when you open oven. Hold the button down and press the clear button on the panel till the display clears itself. Just like that you have a functional oven.
