There are two hoses coming from my Bosch SHE45M06UC dishwasher. One is obviously the drain coming from the back of the unit, and the other is attached to the side looped and not connected to anything. I went online to the Bosch website for a installation manual and it describes this hose as a air venting hose. Does the end attach anywhere or does it just hang loose on the unit. My husband detached it from its original position and thought it was part of the water line. HELP!

Many people realize the dishwasher connects to a little hose on the sink, it is called an air gap. However, many people wonder " The air gap is there to prevent the water from being siphoned out of the dishwasher. When water flows through the drain hose, it creates a suction on the water still in the dishwasher. The air gap, makes a hole for air to get in. That way, the water only leaves the dishwasher when it supposed to, when it is pumped out. Another benefit of an air gap is that if the drain hose becomes clogged, the dishwasher can still pump out the water. Instead of flowing through the hose, as it should, it can flow out the air gap and into the sink.
The dishwasher's drain line usually connects to an air gap mounted at the countertop level on the sink. The drain line continues from the air gap to either the garbage disposer or directly to the sink drain. If the drainage hose between the air gap and the drain is partially or completely blocked, wat

The air venting hose must not necessarily be connected to anything. What else is wrong with the appliance?

My Bosch she45mo6uc/50 dishwasher will not advance to the wash cycle. It makes a series of clicks, but nothing happens. It just stops. Any ideas?

The most common problem that causes this with this particular unit is the water heater unit failing. It will clod rinse but then when it fills and tries to heat the water, it senses that the heater unit isn't functioning and errors out

MY DISHWASH WILL NOT DRAIN COMPLETELY. I HAVE USE THE RESET BUTTONS MANY TIMES... THERE IS STILL ABOUT A CUP OF WATER LET..? WHAT IS WRONG. MODEL SHE45M06UC/50 THANK YOU

Since the drain pump will pump the water out using the "cancel/drain" button, if it did not work then your problem is likely to be in the drain hose system or the garbage disposal downstream from the drain pump. Check for kinks in clogs in the drain hose. Grease can build up in the portion of the drain hose just before it attaches to the garbage disposal.

Opened door during cycle, latch now stuck in closed position, can't re-close

twist a paperclip around some pliers so you have a circle opening. then hook the paperclip around the latch and pull outward with the pliers. once the latch is facing outwards the door should close again

Water does not drain from Bosch Model SHX33A05 dishwasher. When trying to initiate Cancel/Drain (pushing simultaneously the 2 outer buttons) the 2 lights do not light up simultaneously - instead,...

I pulled the unit out and it turned out that the contractor pinched the drain hose between the back of the unit and the wall. Before, I was erroneously informed that the unit went through a complete washing cycle OK after the installation, so I did not expect the pinched hose.

Bosch 3000 dishwasher

Don't. Just attach your hose and the end of the Bosch hose together. Just wind up the Bosch hose and tape it to the back of the machine.

Bosch SHY56A05UC/14

There is a pass through the lower back side of the dishwasher that also has a restraining device to prevent drain hose from being pulled off of drain pump. After passing hose through this opening, connect hose to drain pump. Note: there is another restraining device built into lower plastic housing which has a finger notch to accept hose and keeps the drain hose engaged in to drain pump by not allowing hose to back out of drain pump/ hose interface.
