Ice maker makes ice just fine. The opening (on the inside of the door) where the cubes come out gets a build up of ice. When I take everything out and put it back washed and dried, it makes and dispenses ice just fine until the ice builds up again. No ice build up in ice holder or tube. Help. Thanks!

Thank you, that makes sense. I looked more closely and I think that the flap that allows the cubes to drop out, is not closing tightly. I'm going to wedge it so that it is tightly shut and see what happens. Thanks, again.

How old is the fridge ?
Some where air is leaking into the ice chamber from out side!
I've seen sometimes 3 or 4 parts changed before it's fixed
like flap door that allows is out sometimes is not closing exactly or the gasket around it is leaking a tiny bit that you can not see can cause this!
You need service and possibly more than once till the right part is found that is the culprit!

Time for factory service and diagnoses!

You can not remedy electronic problems your self!

Below I gave you a nation wide service thats very good!

If the appliance is 10 years old or more,it may make sense not to invest any money to fix it!

Hi we have a samsung french door fridge freezer 680ltr, it has stopped making ice and we can,t get the ice door open ,is there any tricks to getting this open . Thanks Don

Air Dryer, dull end of a butter knife...
Apply mild to low heat to the ice door area using the blow dryer. This should get the door open.

Once the door is open you will probably see a back up of ice build up, or even backed up ice cubes that clogged and froze coming down to the ice cube container.

Chip away at the ice cubes, then slowly defrost the ice using the blow dryer. Once the built up ice is melted away, dry everything up with a paper towel or towel.

Ice makers are probably the number one issues with ANY refrigerator. No need to replace them, just maintain them
every couple of months making sure you don't have a lot of ice build up

Why is ice maker making small cubes?

Low water pressure can make small cubes.

I have what appears to be a water leak of some kind in the freezer section near the ice making part of the freezer. You can tell because the freezer is building up ICE all around the bottom of the ICE...

Check to be sure your ICE door chute is closed or closing properly! I have encountered many of these units that have had the flap break off the mounting tabs inside the dispenser opening. If the flap appears to be intact, I would next guess that your ice maker timing is allowing the ice maker to over fill and spill water into the ice bucket.
You can confirm this problem by looking at the ice maker and seeing if the ice cubes in it are filled right up to the center bar that drives the cubes out of the mold.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks, BOB

Ice maker will not make ice cubes, only crushed ice.

take out your ice bin the look in the back of the freezer and ytou will see a small hole with a plastic sqaure actuator.hold the door switch closed and make sure the unit is selected for cubed ice then try and dispence ice if the swaure plastic acuator moves up it is working fine it shoeld drop down when you release the dispencer arm.if it dropps back down then make sure that the metal bail arm is properly inserted into the hole in the auger case when that actuator moves up this opens the small plastic door on the ice bin to allow subed ice to come out.make sure there is no ice build up on the ice bin that would stop the trap door from opening.good luck with you fridge i hope this helps you out,let me know how thing s go for you.

Ice Maker frost and freeze where ice drops into refrigerator door

You need a service guy to look at it. It could be water leaking or a simple case that the flap isnt sealing and the ice melts and then freezes the flap open

Ice Maker not working

Get me the model number. Put tap water in ice maker tray and make sure arm is down. Let it freeze. Wait and see if the ice will drop, this should allow water to come into the ice maker for another run. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Magic Chef Side by Side MOdel RC224RDA

I have the same problem. It turned out to be a problem with the doors. When my kids go to get a snack and close the fridge door (read slam the door) the air pressure pops the seal open on the freezer door causing the ice cubes to begin melting. The bottom items stay frozen (warm air rises). It took me a long time to work this out.
Remove the ice maker tray. Remove the ice blob, being careful to put the u-shaped wire ice-level sensing wire thing, in the up position or the system will dump ice and water all over the freezer. Put all back clean and dry and buy a velcro adhesive strip and install it on top of the freezer door to prevent the door from always blowing open.
Hope this helps

Ice Maker Making Noise

I was able to solve this problem by doing the following:

1) Carefully (because there may be sharp metal blades in this area) reached into the upper left compartment of the icemaker and pressed down on ice cubes that seemed to be lodged there and were protruding slightly above the slots they should have been passing through.

2) Press down on the cubes, forcing them through the slots and into the cube container below

3) Lift the metal arm, remove and completely empty the ice cube container

4) Return the ice cube container to the freezer, making sure it is seated properly

Close the freezer and wait until the ice cube maker begins to make new ice cubes. The sound should stop in around 10-15minutes.
