Temporary: Turn off the printer and clean the roller with plain water and a lint free cloth. A few more prints will come out.

Long term: I'd like to know how to replace the roller.

About to junk my hp 1020. Has not fed paper for some time. Used to do it one at a time by hand, but now won't at all. Any suggestions?

I'm having a problem with my HP "1020 Series" Fax machine. When it's recieving a fax, "Recieving P1" appears on the display for about 10 seconds. The display will then GO BLANK,...

I do not know about this machine but one of the most noted problems for machines is software and firmware updates needed to keep them up to date with computer systems they connect to.
A visit to HP to download its latest software may well help you in this case, start with the drivers which can cause untold issues if outdated.

Hope it helps.......

Paper jam

Sir/Mam
The problem mite be dirty rollers that feed the paper, try cleaning with alcohol or worn out replace. Problem is the paper roller is miss feeding not taking up the paper instead of hitting something in the machine paper jam.

Paper wont feed through on my canon fc224 photocopier

On these fax machines the most component that gets the most usage are the feed rolls.
Even though they are hard to find and hard to reach, using a flashlight one can view the surface of the feed wheels. By inspecting the surface, they may appear to be shinny instead of the normal feed wheel surface tracks.

Either the wheels need to be replaced or cleaning the surface might get a little reliablity, eventually they may need to be replaced.

Some feed wheels have a lower or they might be on the upper part of the drive train, where they have a square rubber pad.

This is especially true with document feeders, the most common part that wears out.

These pads or, arm tips wear out and need to be replaced.
I hope this helps out.

Busy, try later error won't go away

depending what rollers and how you did it, you probably have 'spun' a clutch out of position so it can't find it's 'home" position, and keeps on trying. If it worked before cleaning and now it doesn't you've definitely broken or dislodged something like that.

HP 1020 fax

From manual: Insert document; press Scan & Fax button; dial number; press Start/Copy.  All pages will be scanned, number will be dialed, and scan will be transmitted.  If Memory Full displays, repeat procedure without using Scan & Fax button.

Paper feed jam

it will give you a break if the tires are not worn out. Look and feel if they are smooth, if they are smooth and shiny then replace otherwise clean with alcohol.

good luck
