What wuld be the ssid that my udw155 wuld be broadcasting

Do you have the manual, or can you find it? The manual should tell you. I am not familiar with that specific device, but you should be able to log directly into the device and see the SSID. You should also be able to change the SSID and set whether it is broadcast at all. I change my router settings to NOT broadcast the SSID.

Ow

The SSID can be changed on the router when you reset the router. You have to change all of your wireless devices to the new SSID before they can work on your wireless system.

Change ssid on eircom

To change your SSID, connect your router to your PC with an ethernet cable, go to your web browser (Intenet Explorer, Forefox, Chrome etc) and type 192.168.1.254, and press return.

This will open the control panel for the router.
Select 'EXPERT MODE' from the menu on the right, and accept the warning prompt. Then click on 'CONNECTION' and the 'WIRELESS' on the menu on the right.

In the main window you can then change the SSID for your network.

You can also change some of the other options in this window such as enabling closed mode (whether to broadcast your SSID or not), change security protocol, password, etc.

The default SSID for linksys is Linksysxxxxx. "xxxxx" will be your model number. If you changed your SSID, then it will be whatever you changed it to.

How to change the SSID & Password on Belkin.122 wireless router.

Grandkids should see SSID on their computer if it is being broadcast by your modem ( you probably have modem/ router) if they don't see SSID , your modem may have broadcast SSID set to off. If they can see it, have them enter your password. Passwords are case sensative .

I have changed my SSID number and now cannot use my printer wirelessly. How do I change the number?

> I have changed my SSID number
> how do I change the number?

Huh?

Or, do you mean that you need to use the buttons and the LCD panel on the HP printer to specify the "new" SSID?

Change my printers ssid name

The SSID stands for "Service Set Identifier" it is the name of your wireless network name. The SSID is not usually required in configuring a printer.
The SSID is configured in the router's wireless settings.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access including configuring the SSID, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

I dont know how to change the SSID Name and WEP Key.

You have to change it in the printer settings, not in the router! Otherwise you'll lose connectivity in all the other computers that use this router.
The SSID is the name you gave to your wireless network, and the WEP key is the password you set for your wireless connection.

Hw will I get a new SSS ID if my previous SSS ID

How did you lose a SSID?
The wireless router has a default SSID and you should change the default SSID when you configure the wireless setting.
If you go into the router's wireless setting you can view the SSID and/or change it to something else.
The only way you can lose this setting is to reset the router to the factory defaults, and if this is the case just change the SSID to something you like.

HOW TO RENAME MY BELKIN ROUTER

Using the WEB BASED INTERFACE.
Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router’s Web-Based
Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type “192.168.2.1” (do
not type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”) then press the
“Enter” key.
You will see the Router’s home page in your browser window.
Clicking on the header of the “Wireless” tab will take you to the
“Wireless” header page. From this page, the Router’s wireless radio
can be enabled or disabled (the default setting is enabled). Under the
“Wireless” tab, there are links that allow you to make changes to the
wireless network settings.

Changing the Wireless Network Name (SSID)
To identify your wireless network, a name called the SSID (Service
Set Identifier) is used. The default SSID of the Router is “belkin54g”.
You can change this to anything you want to or you can leave it
unchanged. If there are other wireless networks operating in your
area, you will want to make sure that your SSID is unique (does not match that of another wireless network in the area). To change the SSID, type in the SSID that you want to use in the “SSID” field (1) and click “Apply Changes”
(2). The change is immediate. If you make a change to the SSID, your wireless-equipped computers may also need to be reconfigured to connect to your new network name. Refer to the documentation of your wireless network adapter for information on making this change.
