Its the problem of moisture.try blowing the hot air from the hair dryer on the inner area of your i-pod .where your battery is inserted.these is the common problem and occurs many times due to moisture.
and then try to reset the i-pod by-----
Press and Hold on the Menu button and on to the Little Button in the Center until it reboots.
thanks.please do rate the solution.

have you tried a different PC and a different USB cable?

  • Anonymous Aug 28, 2008

Use the same cable/ipod on different machines... some people had same thing
similar happen few weeks before - thought it was pc voltages but turned
out to be usb cable despite having used the cable successfully before.

    oh.

have you dropped the unit in water or did you get it wet in rain recently? what has led you to this kind of problem?

What could be the problem if my iPod Classic won't charge?

Be sure to connect the charging/sync cable directly to the computer, not a USB hub. Most hubs are don't provide enough power to the usb ports to charge the ipod. If you need a method of charging the ipod while away from the computer connect your sync cable to a device like these: Even the USB port on Apple keyboards is not able to charge the Ipod.

If you're using the computer to charge the Ipod, be sure it stays on, when computers go into sleep or standby modes they stop charging your ipod. You may want to use one of the options below to charge your Ipod when the computer is off or in a different location than the Ipod.

IPOD CLASSIC FLASHING APPLE LOGO AND WILL NOT CHARGE PLUS WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY COMAND IN FACT I CAN NOT DO ANYTHING WITH IT.

The flashing Apple is the equivalent of Microsofts blue screen of death. This apple symbol means hardware failure. Not good. Do a Google search for flashing apple of death. Here's a video that should help you fix it yourself. Hope this helped.
