For a deck no.. Most everything on the deck is done by springs.. what i would do is look at the deck make sure nothing is rubbing the belt making it rip apart.. or make it to not engage.. i would with the engine off engage the blade and disengage the blade make sure all the brakes are pulling away from the pulleys and making sure all the arms are moving to tighten the belt.. if nothing is moving then i double check the cable or however engages the deck (all mowers are different) and if need the part. If the cable is not broken and is still on deck make sure all springs are lubed. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask

2021 husqvarna riding lawn mower 48 inch deck what cause the deck belt to break?

Any debris on top of the deck e.g. thumb sized mulch, driveway stones, pencil diameter sticks or larger. All may cut and snap a belt if they get wedged between the belt and any of the pulleys.

Any hard foreign object of the size that will jamb into a pulley v groove.

Blades spin but not fast enough to cut grass, can hear them slowing and then they start chugging. Deck at full height and belt is not too loose (adjusted to max tightness)

Do the engine rpms drop or only the blade speed?

If belt is tight at cutting height and engine rpms hold, then the vbelt from engine to deck is likely is dry burnished or oily.

First check the blades are install cutting edge down (fin up). If belt from engine to deck has a glassy finish (burnished) replace belt or remove burnish with sandpaper.

It appears be relatively complicated deck system. See owners manual regarding deck remove/install.

Sears Craftsman rider mower bought in 2001. Still runs really great. However, lately it will not cut the grass when I lower the deck to positions 1-3; the blades seem to stop; no cutting action at all. As...

Do the blades need sharpening? Check the belts for tightness and the spring that holds the tension. what stops? The blades stop, but the belt is still turning? Check to also make sure the blades turn freely with the belt disengaged. you may have a spindle problem too.

Need to know how to change transmission fluid on cub cadet lt 1045 riding mower

Cub Cadet has five models in their new Series 1000 lawn tractors, all powered by Kohler engines. Cub Cadet models -- as several other lawn equipment brands -- are manufactured by MTD Products.

The Cub Cadet LT 1045 has a 20-hp Kohler single-cylinder engine, with an aluminum block and cast-iron sleeve for longer life. It has a full-pressure lubrication system with spin-on oil filter for easier maintenance. This engine is not as powerful or as long lasting as the Kohler V-Twin OHV, which is available in other models in the line, but the LT 1045's engine is still solid enough to provide years of mowing.

The hydrostatic (automatic) transmission is a good match with the engine and provides sufficient grip to cut grass on moderate inclines. Power is transferred from the engine to the transmission by a heavy-duty Kevlar belt rather than a more expensive shaft drive. A Kevlar belt also drives the three cutting blades.

The mowing deck cuts a swath of grass 46 inches wide at one pass, and is removable for service and cleaning. Four anti-scalping wheels help keep the deck from scalping grass on uneven ground. The cutting height is manually adjusted from 1-1/2 to 4 inches. The turning radius is 18 inches, which standard for lawn tractors. This model is intended for use on 1- to 2-acre lawns without many turns or small obstacles.

How do you tighten PTO belt?

If the belt is loose it probably needs replaced or has jumped out of one of the pulley or belt guards allowing it to be sloppy. Belts get stretched in many different ways, tall grass, grass getting in the pulley, or they just plain stretch. First though, check to be sure the belt hasn't jumped out of it's normal runway.
