3 beeps is generally a video card problem. Unsure if your laptop has separate video or if it is imbedded on the board, first make sure ram is fully seated in socket

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

hope this helps

I have a fujitsu siemens lifebook E7010 laptop and the problem is this : When I switch on power the system goes ON but with a black screen and the small LCD is showing the start logos CD player is working...

Hi,

This may cause by an electrical charge in the motherboard itself,Im not really sure how it affects the display of the computer. There's also a possibility that the problem is with the LCD cable or the LCD itself. Please follow this method since it usually fix such problem like that,

1.Removed the battery then unplugged the AC adapter

2.Press and hold the power button or the ON/OFF button for at least 30 seconds

3.Connect the power supply back to your computer then turn it back on.

4. Check if you will see any difference.

5. If nothing happens, try to press and hold Fn and F2 on the keyboard.

If nothing happens, there is a possibility that the problem is with the LCD or monitor itself, maybe it will need a replacement...

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa...

Please i use a fujitsu laptop E lifebook. When i boot the system on but gets a black screen. i tried taking out the hdd and still the problem persisted. Some times when i continually boot for couple of...

I have to tell you that 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps are generated from bios for vga errors... This means that you have to get your laptor at the technician as sooner as posible in order to check the vga part of the motherboard for ventilation problems (that's the best solution for you) or for motherboard replacement (I don't think that this solution is very comfortable, since it will cost as a new laptop)

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Fujitsu lifebook n5010 notebook won't reboot i let the battery run out while working. next day, turned on three loud beeps, then three loud beeps then fan runs but no display on the screen. power off,...

Okay, sounds bad.

However, take out the battery from the laptop and remove mains lead. Go and make tea! Then, drink it. Once you have complete this task.

Plug in the AC lead ONLY into the laptop and then try to power it on.

You should see lights on the Hard Disk LED or hear a beep. If you see them but nothing on the screen at all when booting then the capacitor pack has probably gone on the screen. This is not an expensive part, but you do need to know what you are doing to replace it. Think it time to give it to the workshop or ask IT bod to look at it for you.

Keeps freezing during installation of xp

Ok, lets start from scratch.

If you can, connect a different CD/DVD drive and change your Boot Priority to boot from here first.

Insert your XP disc, and using the CD's settings, delete all partitions and reformat the drive (NTFS). Start the installation and see what happens.

If you have already done this, or it doesn't work. Check how scratched the CD is. As long as it's not a manufacturer's revovery disc, you could ask someone if you could borrow their XP installation disc.

A good way to get rid of minor scratches on your CD's, is to spray them lightly with furniture polish (with beeswax). Leave for a minute, then using a very clean dust cloth, gently clean the cd from the middle to the outside. N.B. never clean the cd in a circle motion, i.e rubbing.

Hope this works for you.

My fujitsu lifebook e7010 doesnt always turn on properly

If an external monitor is plugged in an the display is ok then the problem is probably an inverter board or bad/loose flex cable to the lcd screen.

If the external display is distorted then the problem is the video adapter on the laptop.
