MP3 player Philips GoGear SA2620/02's driver

If you do not have the correct device driver for your computer, you can still use the player like any other USB flash drive. However, the player will need to be set for MSC connection mode.

To set the player for MSC connection mode, select "PC connection preference" from the Settings menu. Once this is set, reconnect to your computer and it should connect as a standard mass storage device.

As an alternative, try installing Philips Songbird software that came with the device. Along with installing necessary drivers for connecting to the player in either mode, it will also allow you to upgrade the player's firmware and fix any residual problems.

If you do not have Songbird, download it for Windows or Mac here:http://www.usa.philips.com/c/mp3-media-player/22126/cat/en/#/difference/philipssongbird.

My philips gogear vibe wont turn on

Reset your GoGear with something sharp like the tip of a pen or the end of a paper clip,

if you're device isn't working properly or there's a frozen display.

Insert the sharp object into the "Reset" hole (located at the bottom of the player), and hold it there until the device turns off.

If resetting the device does nothing to restore the display, access the "Philips Device Manager" through your computer to recover the GoGear.

Click "Start" on your computer, then "Programs," "Philips Digital Audio Player," "Aria Device Manager," and then "Philips Device Manager."

This will launch the "Philips Device Manager." Make sure the GoGear is turned off completely. Connect your GoGear to your computer while holding down the "Volume Up" button.

Continue to hold the "Volume Up" button on your GoGear, until the "Philips Device Manager" recognizes the device and enters recovery mode.

Click the "Repair" button when it appears on your computer, then folow the steps to fully recover the GoGear.

Properly disconnect your GoGear from your computer and restart the device.

Recharge your device if your GoGear dies suddenly while playing.

Connect the GoGear to your computer via the supplied USB cord.

Plug one end of the USB cord into a functional, open USB port on your computer. Plug the free, smaller end of the USB cord firmly into the small USB jack on your GoGear and turn your computer on.

This will begin the charging process of your GoGear.

If recharging doesn't work, the battery may need to be replaced.

Check that your GoGear isn't in standby mode. Hold the "Power" button for two seconds to turn it back on.

hope this helps

My gogear player always says " failed to update firmware on the device". What should I do to repair my gogear?

Hi,
via this link you can download the Philips Device Manager:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=ua&mid=Link_Software&ctn=SA3125/02

Install the software on to your PC and try to connect the device to the usb port. If the PC doesn't see the device you should download the firmware upgrade software from this link also and use the "repair function" of the Device Manager. In this case you should not forget press and hold the recovery key of your player when connecting to the PC. The recovery key is the PLAY button.
With this you can repair your player.
I hope I could help you,
Thanks.

My Philips GoGear SA011 just says "No songs found" in Music/All songs.. everytime.I can only play music in Folder/Music/.. I have updated the newest Firmware for SA011 but nothing else happen. What is...

Back up your player before you format it. Formatting erases all the data inside your player.

  1. Connect your player to your PC.
  2. On your PC desktop, double-click My computer.
  3. Highlight your player in the popup window, right-click, and then select Format.
If you don't see the Format option:
    • Double-click on your player in the popup window.
    • Highlight the Internal Storage icon, right-click, and then select Format.
    • Click Yes when you see the warning message.
  4. Click Start to format your player.
  5. When the formatting is finished, copy your music, pictures and video onto your player.

Wont stay turned on.

1) Make sure the usb charger is in the lock position before trying to charge.
2) Open Philips Device Manager and try repairing the device. [connect your GoGear to the computer, open Philips Device Manager (Start-->All Programs-->Philips), and click on the repair tab. Now, disconnect your GoGear from computer. Turn the GoGear off if it is not already. Press and hold the volume + key and connect the GoGear to the computer (while still pressing the volume +). A window will pop up saying a repair is being performed. now you can let go of the Volume + button. The repair will get your device working normally again. WARNING: the repair process will delete any music/other media file from your GoGear.]

3) after repair, perform a firmware upgrade ("Update" tab in Philips Device Mgr while GoGear is connected to computer - see Philips website for more details)

Worst case scenario - Even rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charging cycles. The battery for the SA178 is an LI-Polymer 300mAh 12-hr battery. Philips won't fix it for you, but you might want to find a local repair service.
