Try repairing your OS.just insert the window cd installer went booting.follow the instructions.until you see repair you operating system or windows repair.

be that as it may i did try the actual windows xp site and it appears to be down.

but you should be aware that support for xp is rapidly ending. consider if you can upgrading your operating system. forget vista and go with win 7
