If the fuses only blow after remote turn-on voltage is applied to the amplifier, the amp probably has shorted output transistors. If that's the case, they will need to be replaced.

If you're interested in repairing it yourself, read through the following page.

I NEED A FUSE CAP FOR A MEMOREX DS 10 SURROUND SOUND AMPLIFIER 1.5 AMP 250V GLASS FUSE.WHAT SIZE DO I NEED?

Most fuses are 20mm in size, they also come in surge and quick blow. If in doubt go for the Quick Blow type. However fuses tend to blow if there is an overload. Often caused by a shorted power amp transistor or device. If the fuse goes again then you have a short somewhere.

If a ceremic fuse keeps getting burned can it be replaced with a glass fuse of the same value.10amps 250V.

Ceramic fuses have better interrupting characteristics under extremely high currents (relative, not break current). Not the case for a rice cooker. Ceramic has advantages in product production, assembly, regulatory as well.
I would not expect glass to make any significant difference.

Im looking for replacment fueses for my jbl tr225 and was wondering if something that can handle more power would be safe

I would only increase the fuse size by 5 amps if I could not find the right size.... If you have a direct short it will blow the fuse if it is a little over sized. If you use the range alot for a long period of time and if the wire size is matched real close to the fuse size then you could run the risk of getting the wire to hot and cause a fire hazard if you use a larger fuse then is needed..... Hope this helps.

Hello i need a 6.3a - 125v fuse for my 100w amplifier the reson the old one blew was my step down transformer failed

You can fit a 5 amp fuse at 250volts if you can't find that one. As long as you don't exceed 6.3 amps it should be OK. It will only blow if there's a real problem. Use a quick blow if you don't know the type. Your local parts shops should stock them.

My amp gets real hot and then turns off, what is the problem? Also If i choose to the setting of "Low Pass" as the filter option, would this blow subs?

Your amp is getting hot possiblily due to under power? of the amp. First try to turn the gain down (sensitivity) see if that helps, if not then add a fan to the amp to cool it. Also put the amp in an area where air runs freely....

Low pass means that it is allowing low frequency to pass by so No it won't blow your subs but it will hit certain frequencies!

On Memera fuse box, 30 amp fuse catridge carrier gets very hot, in fact can smell the plastic melting, but why does the 30 amp fuse cartridge (definitely rated as 30 amp) it is carrying NOT blow (240 volt...

OK well at 120 Volts at say 25 Amps (well below blowing potential) that equals 6000 WATTS 6KW, on a near short circuit. going through it...You would melt TOO.
I always use Ceramic ones myself, look they get HOT real HOT, BUT shouldn''t melt.
But in saying that your Electric shower shouldn't draw that much anyway, in reality. it may draw 10A - 15A, at most? more like 5A - 10A,
So i suspect you have a fault to earth somewhere you need to call an electrician. You may just have discovered a very bad fault. Some sort of short or leakage to earth or something?
A shower shouldn't draw anywhere near enough current to cause this type of occurrence. Please disconnect it by tripping the breaker and call a professional. get that melted one changed anyway.

Fuel pump fuse blows quick

You have a short between the fuse and the reset valve . you have to trace the wires in between the fuse box and the fuel reset valve to see if they are pinched and a short is occuring.Follow the wiring from the fuse towards the back .
