High-pitched whine sound is the sign that battery is going to run out , the battery is need to replace ,the size of the battery is SR 2025 or lithium replacement 2025,any brand Maxell,Everyready,Toshiba,Seiko and Renata.. This is very easy to replace, you need only a jeweller screw.and a piece of hankerchief.... at the back of your watch there is four small philips screw, when going to unscrew put the hankerchief at the pad where you going hold to open the watch, hold the watch firmly when unscrew to avoid unwanted scratch. If you already open you can see inside tin plate cover the battery,.The battery is in the center ,find the end of tin plate that covers the battery,if you see the end twist it so you can take out the battery and replace it with a new one ,then your watch is working again.. When closing the cover make sure the gasket(black rubber) is in place ,so water can't get inside, then screw the cover. Dont wory your watch it is 30 meter water resistant.. You can buy the battery in local grocery store ,or electronics store, the battery size is common just give the size number... i have site for free manual; . http://www.sportline.com/manuals/900.pdf
Most likely a CR2032 Lithium, the how part is take off the back, remove the battery holder and old battery. Observe the polarity so you put the new one in correctly. You may need to do a reset which is very difficult to try and tell you what to do but none the less may need to be done. Put everything back making sure the gaskets are aligned properly. You will probably need a very small phillips screwdriver. This is actually my second recommendation. My first is take it to a watchmaker that does hundreds of these every year.
Here is the pdf version of the watches manual:

Press the bottom metal sensor until the display flashes. Says its best to use the "flat pads" of your finer and not the tips.
Good luck.
