Sony Home Stereo Fuse

Your stereo system must have a sub woffer pre-out or sub woffer output.

Your home stereo is a 120V system, while your subs are designed for 12V use. Your home stereo doesn't have the amps to push your subs. They need alot of amps at 120V. Your best bet is to is an AC to DC converter, but to get one that is powerful enough to run your system would be more expensive than just buying a decent set of home subs. Also, your box design for home audio is different that car audio. Home enclosures usually use a bandpass box, while car enclosures rarely use this method.

You want to use a 12 Volt power supply. This takes your 110V power and converts it to 12V power. Which size you need completely depends on how powerful your amplifier is. Your stereo needs about 10amps of power and looking at the fuse size on your amp, you need to add thses to the 10 amps for the stereo and this will tell you what kind of power supply you are looking at.

why are you in stereo for subs? mono all the way.

if you have been blasting it, that could be why, recievers of this era are made with cheaper parts that cant handle what theyre supposed too,
i dont know specifically, but things like that have some sort of auto fuse...
i would assume, you are using it with wrong ohmage speakers, are you using car speakers? car subs? older speakers?
most home stereo equipment is 8 ohms, i have a set of 140 watt 3 way (10"[vented]/4"/2") as fronts and a set of 80 watt rears (6"[vented]/1.5"/24mm) the fronts are induviduals, meaning they have to be bought individually, and are not sold as a set, or part of anything, the rears were part of a bookshelf system, i got the set secondhand... but i always checked the ohmage...

Probably need an installer - depends on yr/make/model of car - stereo and wiring diagram for sub system. There are lots of questions need answering and if not installed properly, you can certainly damage the stereo, sub system. Subs use a lot of power and improper wiring could cause problems, even fires !

just chek the cables.. f it not work open the sub box , and check the sub speaker., , , , maybe the wire is burnd

this outdated system,but a regular rca cable will inter connect the components.as or the remote Box i am not aware of any.

The easiest solution to use your subwoofer is to buy an amp for it. Any old stereo receiver from a garage sale will probably do just fine.

1. Connect the mono RCA subwoofer output from your Sony with a 1xRCA-to-2xRCA splitter to both the left and right input of the cheap reciever's tape or aux input
   
2. connect both speaker outputs of the cheap reciever to the speaker input on your subwoofer. make sure both black (-) outputs on the reciever connect to the black input on the sub, and the red outputs (+) on the reciever are both connected to the red input on the subwoofer.
3. make sure the cheap receiver's volume is all the way down. turn your Sony up to about the loudest you'll listen to it. turn up the subwoofer amp until it's loud enough to sound good.
4. leave the subwoofer amp alone, the Sony volume will all you ever need to touch from now on.

You can even now turn off your subwoofer / adjust the volume easily now!
