Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area.

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside for any debris.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris that could cause this error or problem.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.

8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Will not Print

Try a hardware check of the printer first. To check the hardware of the printer, do the following:
  1. Switch off the printer.
  2. Load one sheet of paper into the paper feeder.
  3. Press the Power button and the Paper Feed button at the same time and hold them both down for three seconds. Then release the Power button only.
  4. When the printer begins to print, release the Paper Feed button. A page will be printed. The page should contain some text at the top and a series of horizontal color lines (cyan, magenta and yellow) below the text, with a thick black line below the colored lines. All the lines should be solid.
  5. When the test is complete, switch off the printer. NOTE: If you do not switch off the printer, it will continue to print.

Won't feed

Just like some one else... First I turned off the printer. Then I turned it upside down and shook it. I found a rubber band in there that one of my sons shot at his brother(...and missed).
Now the printer feeds quite well.
Also, do not capture the paper between the adjustable giude and the opposite edge. Otherwise the guide at the non-fed side acts more like a brake because of the friction. I learned that in the conveyor business.

Lexmark x1270 printer power button blinking won't print

I had the same issue with my Lexmark X1290, I solved it by opening up the device, so the ink cartridges should pop, they didn't so I pressed the power button to switch it off, and then switched it back on (with the device open!) and all the paper flowed out, the flashing stopped and it could print again. Good Luck!

X1270 paper feeding to right

If this printer uses rubber rollers to feed the paper through the printer, try using alcohol on a cotton ball to clean the rollers. That might help restore the 'grip' on the paper.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice.

Good luck!!

Paper wont feed propaly

Something probably fell into that tiny pinch of an area where the paper goes. I have found everything from a Tostito crumb to a chip of drywall blocking my paper feed. Flip your machine over, poke it if you have to, and shake it around til the little bugger falls out.
