I have a RAV254 remote for my Yamaha MODEL RX V457 6.1 Channel Receiver.... Everything works on it EXCEPT it will NOT power On or Off the receiver.... How do I fic this problem?????

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:

They also sell replacement remotes.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remotes", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

Yamaha rxv 870 - volume does not work from remote(s)

hi i have the same problem. yamaha rx-v870 with a remote control that works perfectly except for the volume up/down. i pressed the buttons for a minute and applied some lemon gunk remover liquid and this helped for a very short period. i am wondering if the problem is with the little motor inside the receiver that rotates the volume knob itself, as opposed to an infrared problem on the transmitter/receiver.

How can I get hold of a new remote for a yamaha rx v450 av receiver. Mine has stopped working. Gets really hot when new batteries put in.

just bought a Topfield trf-2460 PVR and I have got everything working except the remote control (that came with pvr) sound funtion. I can record and playback with the audio working fine but even after setting the TF remote control to work on the TV funtion, it just doesn't like it, except for the mute button, that and the off function. Yamaha RX-V861 no sub woofer output

It sounds like you have switched off the sub channel.
Keeping pressing C Level on the remote till you see SWFR.
Press D l / h to adjust the speaker output
level.
