I have a Linksys WRT320N wireless router connecting my PC and 3 netbooks. 3 netbooks stuck "acquiring network address" after establishing wi-fi protected set up for my BlackBerry Torch. How do I fix this problem? Thank you!

If your 3 notebooks were already configured with router and then you used WPS to connect your blackberry, then it must have changed the wireless settings of the router, due to which the router and the 3 notebooks are not able to communicate now and due to that, the notebooks are showing acquring network address as they are not able to get an IP address of the router.

Solution: You need to open the interface of the router and check the new wireless settings and then put those wireless settings into your 3 notebooks. You may use this link for detailed instructions, or you may also chat with the technician available for chat on that website. Check or Change WirelessPassword

Just update the firmware version of the router.
make sure you do that using one the computer that is connected using a hardwire connection.
you can download the latest firmware from homesupport.cisco.com.
goto homesupport.cisco.com > on right hand top in search support box type WRT320N search >
on the page select downloads > select hardware version (look on the bottom of router on a sticker)
Download the firmware.
If you don't know how to update firmware or you are not able to do that....
just let know the problem and i will help you out......

How do I find SSID of home network so I can establish connection between laptop and wireless printer.

Log into the router (try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of your browser), and then look at the wireless settings pages. The SSID is listed in plain text. If you never changed it - it is "linksys" (no quotes).

I hope this helps!

When I try to connect to the wireless of the linksys wrt320n, I am prompted to enter the device password? Where I could find this device password?

Hi tabua/rob,

When you try to connect to your wireless network, you will be prompted for the password. Please note that this password is to authenticate you to connect to your wireless network. You need to log into the router from a computer which is connected to the router with an ethernet cable to find this password from the router's web interface.

1. From the hardwired computer (If you don't have one, you may have to connect your computer to the WRT320N with an ethernet cable on one of the 4 ethernet ports).
2. The default ip address of linksys routers is 192.168.1.1. You could access the router's setup page by typing http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser.
3. Please leave username blank. Enter "admin" in the password field (But without quotes)
4. You should be logged into the router's setup page.
5. Click on the "Wireless" tab. You may find "Wireless Security" just below it. Click on it.
6. You should be able to find your wireless password here. If you are using WPA security, then you need to note down the "Pre-shared key" value from this page. If you are using WEP security, then you have to note down "Key 1" value. This will be your password for your wireless network.
7. Then try to connect to your wireless network from your wireless computer. Enter the password, which you have noted in step 6, when prompted. WRT320N should recognize you and allow you to connect wirelessly, provided the password is correct.

I hope this helps you. Kindly rate my solution, if it does.

Thanks

I AM NOT CONNECTING TO INTERNET WIRELESSLY. I BOUGHT A NEW ADAPTER BUT FORGOT THE NETWORK KEY. CISCO IS ASKING ME $29.95 PLUS TAXES TO GET HELP BECAUSE MY ROUTER IS NO MORE UNDER WARRANTY.(15 DAYS...

  • Open Internet Explorer, it does not matter if you see error message such as "The page can not be displayed" . now erase everything on the address bar and type in this IP address: 192.168.1.1 or the full address: http://192.168.1.1Thi s is the default IP address for the router set by Linksys.

  • 2 Hit the Enter key on your keyboard to connect to the router's web admin control panel. You will be prompted a login window for the username and password: the default admin username is "admin" and the default admin password is "password". If you can't connect to this admin control panel, you will need to change the IP address on your modem, maybe your modem is using the same IP 192.168.1.1 also, just unplug the router from your modem, and hook up your computer directly to the modem and fire up the web browser and enter the IP 192.168.1.1 and follow the on screen direction to get in.
  • 3 It will then ask you to change password, then you make up a password that is meaningful for you to remember. You will need to write down the username and password for future reference because I am sure you will forget. You will need to reset the router if you forget the router password, and that will erase everything saved inside the router setting. You can change your key in the wireless security setup section once in the router.

I can not connect to my netgear wgr614v6 with my hp netbook. I can connect with my other laptop and the netbook has been connected before. It keeps saying "acquiring Address"

If you're trying to connect wirelessly, and it says "acquiring address" and never connects, it's most likely because your wireless network has an encryption key enabled, and the encryption key on your laptop/netbook doesn't match. You should disconnect from your home wireless network, and then try to re-connect to it. Verify that you're using the correct wireless key to connect. If that still doesn't work, you should reset your router to factory defaults so that there's no wireless key required to connect - and then try again. If you want to put the wireless key back, you can run the CD or connect to the router using the web interface and configure it again.

Secondary computer will not connect wirelessly; IP address problems.

If the router is not assigning an IP then you are probably not actually connecting to the network. Try disabling your wireless security on the router and see if they connect. If they do then you know the problem lies in that direction.
