I need to replace the diaphragm in my Echo trimmer but can't find the Echo replacement parts in my local hardware store. Is there another brand diaphragm that will fit an echo trimmer?

Try to pressure test the carb to see if you have an internal leak. If it won't hold pressure then it is junk and needs to be replaced. If it holds then double check that you didn't accidently put the gaskets and diaphragm in wrong. If it holds and still doesn't work right replace the carb anyway. They are relatively inexpensive
well if its brand new return it to the store and get a echo or a stihl since i've been using them they have never failed me even the blower in the dead of winter to blow out the garage
Why not repair the cord? there are many ways to do this. the simplest is to go to the hardware store and get a male and female plug end. install them and plug them together and your in business.
Basically you just made an extension cord out of one end of your original cord.
Your battery is probably shot. The batteries for the Worx trimmers are terrible. They sell replacement batteries on ebay, but if you can afford it i highly recommend buying a quality trimmer from your local hardware store, either plug in or gas.

The manufacturer's of the cheaper "big BOX stores" trimmer carburetors are made in foreign lands, with adjustments basically set to their liking. Ryobis use ZAMA and RUEIING carburetors. Mexico and China are just 2 of the foreign places they are made. Unfortunately, the factory settings don't always work well in the locale the machine is sold in.This is POSSIBLY one of your problems.Higher end trimmer manufacturers set up their machines (eg. Stihl, Echo, Kawasaki, Husqvarna) prior to selling them. The carbs get adjusted for the local climate.Elevation effects carb function a good deal. A standard diaphragm carb is dependent upon the atmospheric pressure to work. Try to check if the carb is adjusted properly, first. Here is a tutorial. http://www.zamacarb.com/tipspage.html
Hi bigmac--
Check your yellow pages for a nearby lawnmower repair shop. They should be able to match an original manufacturer's pull cord to your specific trimmer. If you're adventurous, you can also visit your local home center or hardware store and purchase a generic pull cord. Fitting its length to your machine can sometimes be a challenge, though.
Hope this helps.
