I bought used blackberry storm it came with NO sim card .it was verizon wireless.. when i go thru steps to unlock (i bought code online for unlockin) network shows blocked not active i have my sim card from my old phone (my cur rent service provider) in the blackberry does that matter what can i do 2 unlock this blckberry storm thanks

Hi,Thanks for posting your Question..Trying to unlock your black berry on the internet sites sometimes is a thing of risk and sometimes it works.

It all depends how the phone was locked..May be locked manually and and might be a software unlock too


You might need to try out the two process of unlocking both manually and with sowftware..


Manual unlock

There's a little key at the top left corner of the phone (has a little picture of a lock). Press it and it unlocks.


Software unlock.

Please follow the procedure below:

1. Insert SIM card.
2. Power phone on and turn off the radio (turn Wireless Off option).
Very Important.
3. Select Settings, then Options and then select Advanced Options.
4. Scroll down and select SIM Card.
5. Hold down the ALT key and type "MEPD" (this does not display on the
screen).
6. Hold down the ALT key and type "MEP2" (this does not display on the
screen).
7. Enter the Unlock Code you purchased
8. Press Enter.
9. Reboot Device. Device is now unlocked.
