AOC e2343Fk monitor appears to be stretching out the screen. Only looks normal when I take it off the widescreen setting, but then have black bars on right and left of screen. This is not how things appeared at the store. Explorer looks too big and oversized. Tried changing the resolution but then the monitor cuts off signal for 10sec then comes back on with nothing changed. Please advise! Thanks, Casey

SOURCE: All pictures appear wider than they really are

You may have to match up the video card settings with the monitor settings to get the correct resolution setting. Try adjusting the resolution of the graphics card to match the setting for the monitor. If this does not work you can call, Envision customer support at this telephone number : 1-888-838-6388. They should be able to help you get the correct setting for you set-up. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

SOURCE: re ACER V203H 20

It is definetly a widescreen the issue is either with your display card or your resolution setting you need to check both. If you would have told me wether your display is through mother board or scsi card the model of mother board or the display card then i could fix the issue easilly.

SOURCE: image set up of screen is only half of the monitor

If you v-size is already at 100% then the issue is with the picture being sent to the monitor. Based upon what kind of input you have for the monitor there is a number of different ways to fix this. I will assume you are using the monitor with a desktop computer. If this is for XP, then there is a simple fix as follows, adjusting your display properties:
Right-click on your desktop background and then click on "Properties" this will open up a new window. Select the "Settings" tab, then drag the green arrow in the "Screen Resolution" field to the desired setting. Since you have a "widescreen set-up" you more than likely have a resolution where the first number is about twice the second number...they should be close to even to have a square image (bigger numbers show more detail than smaller numbers).
Hope this helps!

CHANGING THE SCREEN ASPECT RATIO: ( From Manual )
The TV can display images in four different modes: Wide, Zoom, Panoramic, and Normal. Each mode displays the picture differently. To change the screen aspect ratio:
1. Press the MENU button on the remote.
2. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight the Wide icon. Press OK.
3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight your desired screen mode and press OK:
• Normal preserves the content's original aspect ratio. Since the 4:3 aspect ratio is not large enough to fill the TV's screen, black bars are added to the left and right of the display image.
• Wide stretches a 4:3 aspect ratio picture to the edges of the screen. Since the picture is being stretched, the display image may appear distorted. If the program is already formatted for widescreen viewing (1.85:1 or 2.35:1), then black bars will appear on the top and bottom of the display image.
• Zoom expands images with black bars to fit the screen.
• Panoramic expands the display image to fill the screen.
images may appear wider than intended.
If you are watching widescreen (1.85:1 or 2.35:1) content, black bars will still appear on the top and bottom of the display image. This option is only available when the TV is displaying a 480i/480p source.

This sounds like a computer problem and not really a television problem. Check your driver files.

Try removing your driver files. Then disconnect your AOC monitor. Reboot the computer and login. Shut down the computer and reconnect the AOC monitor. Start the computer. Now install the monitor drivers.

When darwing in AutoCad, circles appear as eggs!

It is because your monitor is not getting the correct navtive resolution from your PC, the aspect ratio is not correct, the PC video output should be set to 1680x1050 @60Hz for this monitor. This monitor 16:10, not 16:9 like other 16:9 monitor.

Change widescreen

Right click any where on the desktop where there are no icons, and go to properties.

In Vista, there will be a link at the bottom of the page that says Display Setting, click on it and you'll see a slide bar under the word Resolution. Drag this slide bar until you get a correct looking resolution. Then click Apply.

In. XP, there will be a Settinga tab. Click on the tab and the slide bar will be under the word Screen Resolution. Every thing else is the same.

Acer AL2216WBD LCD Monitor Problem

If your computer does not have a video card that supports the correct resolutions for the widescreen monitors, then your picture may get stretched. Much like watching normal tv programs on a an hd set. It will eitther strech or cut off the picture.
Try different settings in you computer display settings.

Display appearing stretched

the original image size was probably recorded in 4:3 aspect ratio...meaning your widescreen is a 16:9 ratio size screen and is stretching it outwards to fill the whole screen. If you want the image to look normal.. ie. not short and fat people.... you need to change the picture size in the settings from widescreen 16:9 to normal 4:3 tv in the settings menu most likely...Also most remotes will/should have a button for that.
