Take this info with a grain of salt. I recently received one of these units with a TOC error, and after removing the drive assembly and reinstalling it, the problem went away. Before removal, I observed the motor spinning poorly and even backwards. Rather than pull the whole drive assembly, I would first eject the drive and remove the face from the tray. This is done by putting your thumbs on the tray and pulling up with your pointer fingers underneath the face. It should just snap off and snap back on the same way. Try playing a disc now, if it works try loosening the screws on the drive assembly and shifting the assembly towards the front of the unit, tighten the screws and put the face back on. You should be good to go. There are four screws holding the assembly down, the two in the back can only be accessed when the tray is in the open position. The front two are accessible through holes in the tray, and I don't recall if the tray has to be open or not, but that's easily observable. If it's still not working, there is a flat-flex cable running to the laser assembly. Pull and reseat this gently. Try to only manipulate the cable by the blue reinforcement tab. I hope this helps!

What is a toc problem

TOC stands for Table Of Contents. It is the beginning track on the inside of a CD and tells the player how many tracks there are, how long they are and when and where they end. If a player cannot read this information, it cannot read the CD.

Denon DN-C635 CD Player problem.

In working with consumer electronics a lot of years, the pickup, mechanism or CD section is not always at fault but people that
are trying to work on their own equipment make assumptions that may not be correct. If you put in a new CD player then the other issues as with all wave soldered equipment can be bad solder joints and even bad solder at joints where the connectors are as these get a lot of activity in a repair. Look at the PCB well. I have fixed a lot of equipment by resoldering bad or broken joints. Check around power transistors and those larger drive transistors for these broken joints.

CDJ NOT READING CDS. STATES (DISC ERROR)

If it shows No Disc error to all CDs, either its Sled Motor [The motor which spins the disc inside], or its optical picku unit has the fault. You have to contact the nearest Denon authorised service center to get it repaired, as Denon uses special type machanism with theirs sets, and it can't be available at open electonic spare part market.

I get disc error when inserting a disc into my Denon DN S700

Are you using the correct format of discs? It requires Standard compact disc (12 cm), types CD-TEXT, CD-R, CD-RW (CD-R and CD-RW disks must be finalised before using - but even then will not always be accepted) It will not work with CD+R or CD+RW
If it will not work with ANY CD (including professionally produced CDs) then the lens may need cleaning. Purchase a CD cleaning disk (a computer CD cleaning disk will work fine) pop it in the slot and hit the play button.
You can download the manual here http://www.denondj.com/Assets/Dimages/Products/Manuals/ab8715a8c0d742f0ab8c9afed5bf90e0.pdf?ts=012725

Switch bwtn CONT or SINGLE play on Denon's DN-C615

Try this:
1. While holding "Title", Press Stop to enter what Denon calls "presetting" mode.
2. Press Track Search Reverse or Track Search Forward until you get to 20, which is the presetting mode for Single/Continuous Play.
3. Press Play to toggle between Continuous and Single Play.
4. Press Stop to exit Presetting Mode.
Hope this works! I just finished a belabored job without Single Play on this unit. I have been searching for the answer too. I don't have access to the deck to try it, but I think this will do the job.
