Playstation plays ape escape 3 but won't play the original ape escape game keep getting disk read error

Hi, It sounds like there's an error with the laser that reads blu ray media as PS3 games and blu ray movies are both stored on blu ray disks which is read by a different type of laser then a dvd is read by. There's nothing you could do to fix that on your own, the only fix I've heard of is sending it in to Sony.

there could be a possible error with your disk reader/ blu ray. If you still have it under warrenty get a new one, if not call up playstation and try and sort something out.

If it's a Capcom game or an online based one it won't work because Playstation Network is down at the moment so there's no online play at all which can cause an error to come up. Hope this helps.

If it won't play online what you'll need to do is set a static ip in your router for your ps3 and then open ports TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070 (you'll need to contact your router about that)

If it won't play AT ALL follow these steps ( http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=1488 ) to get into safe mode and select option 3.

If NONE of your PS3 games work and NONE of your blu rays work, your blu ray drive is fried and you'll need to get it fixed. You can go to: us.playstation.com/getservice to get it fixed.

Well i'm not sure iff this is a the solution.

I bought:USB Gamepad Converter Dualschock PS2 Playstation 2 SonyFrom ebay, else i really woodnt know a way to solve this unless the developers or sony can come up with ...

try puting in a ps2 game in and play it for 1 minute then quite and take it out and put in your ps3 game in it should work if u get a error code well i dont no wat to tell you. hope it works..

Maybe the disc is scratched (Check the bottom of it) which would explain the disc reading error, or the lens are dirty (Should get a DVD Cleaning KIT), which also explains it.

Ape Escape was designed to be used with the Dual Shock 1, therefore the game might not emulate correctly with the PS3's pad.

Then yeah its just that there is an error reading the disk. Try to clean it or get a new GTA3 game.
