I have a Panasonic KX-T7636 phone system. We have a new receptionist and want to change the main menu greeting so that one of the options is "press zero for (new assistant)" instead of the old assistant's name. She was able to change her personal voicemailbox greeting so when you do press zero it has her greeting. How do I change the main greeting?

To record a new greeting on the Panasonic KX-TG4221, make sure that the phone is in standby (no handsets in use). Press Menu on a handset. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to Answering Device and press OK (Menu). Again use the up/down arrows to navigate to Greeting and press OK. Navigate to Record Greeting and press OK. Select Yes (from the Yes/No) options and press OK. After you hear the beep, hold the handset about 8 inches (20 cm) away from you and recite the message. Press OK when finished. Press Off to exit the menu system. The previous greeting will be deleted as you do the above steps. (The manufacturer's pre-recorded greeting will only play if you do not have a recorded greeting. You can listen to the greeting by following the first three steps above and then choosing Check Greeting. See page 24 of the manual for the steps to record a new Greeting. The base of your phone system is the KX-TG4131. The handset/base combination packs have a slightly different model number (KX-TG4132 for example). Assuming that you want to change the greeting of the answering system, you need to press Menu # 3 0 2 (when the phone system is in standby mode) from a handset. (Alternatively, press Menu and use the arrow keys to navigate to Answering Device. Press Select and navigate to Greeting. Press Select again and navigate to Record Greeting. Press Select and navigate to Yes. Press Select one more time. When you hear the beep, hold the handset about 8" (20 cm) away from you and speak your new message clearly. Press Stop when finished. The recording will cut off if your greeting is longer than 2 minutes. To exit the menu system, press Off. Make sure that the Answering system is on and your recorded greeting should play when you can't pick up the phone within the set number of rings.

Press Select and then navigate to Greeting. Press Select again and highlight Record Message. Press Select and then confirm this by selecting Yes and pressing Select once more. Hold the handset about 20 cm (7.5") away from your mouth and speak the new greeting clearly. Press Stop when done and then press Off.

Note: this greeting will only play if the answering system is on and you have the system respond before any telephone provider Voicemail system answers the call.

Please consult with a system admin/phone tech. They may have the password. If they do not have your password, the password will need to be reset. In order to reset your password, a system admin/phone tech will need to access your system manager within your voicemail system to change or remove your password.

The KX-T7453 phone does not have a message function, you may have an associated voicemail on your system. Try dialing (on the intercom) extension 165 if you do not have a voicemail button. Are you trying to change the greeting for your individual phone or the main greeting people hear when they call your company?
This gets a lot more complicated and you should contact your vendor.

When we set up a Panasonic voice mail system, you have a menu that plays. Usually, there is a Company Greeting, then a Custom Greeting. They are changed from mailbox 998 option 5 then 1 or 3 depending on which greeting you want to change.

Of course, you may not have a TVA or TVx voice mail system, but I'm guessing that's what you have. In all cases, the Company greeting plays in front of the Custom greeting. By default in a TVA it's probably both greetings 1. You can log into the system and play them without changing them to verify what's where.

1. Raise the handset on any telephone in the Panasonic Telephone system.
2. Press the "INTERCOM" button and dial 165.
3. When answered by the Auto Attendant, dial # XXXXX * 9 9 8.
(Pound Six Star Nine Nine Eight)
4. Enter the Administrator Password. Followed by a #. (Pound) If required.
5. Dial 5 to "Modify Message"
6. Dial 1 to "To Change The Company Greeting"
7. Enter the Company Greeting Number from 1 to 32.

If you are not sure of which Company Greeting Number to change, then start with 1.
The Panasonic Voice Mail system will actually play the greeting to you.
Then you can determine if it is the correct one you want to change.
If it isn't, you can dial 2 and move on to next greeting and so on.

If you select a greeting number where there is no greeting recorded,
the Panasonic Voice Mail system will prompt you to record one at that time.
You may dial *1 (STAR ONE) to skip recording and return to Step 7.

8. When you have found the Company Greeting you want to re-record
follow the system prompts to record and save your new greeting.

Note:
You can change the Company Greetings remotely from anywhere.
1. Call the main number of your business.
2. When answered go to Step 3 and follow the same procedures.
3. When completed....Hang up....

If you are using this phone on a Panasonic KX-TDA 30/100/200/600 system.
From the Switcboard / Main telephone or Managers phone with the handset on the cradle/hook:
1. Press PROGRAM * * or PROGRAM * # followed by the system password ( usaully default is 1234).
2. Now press 000 and then ENTER.
3. Enter the last 2 digits of the year and then select the month with either SEL+ or AUTO ANS / MUTE.
4. Scroll right with the right arrow key and change the date.
5. Press the NEXT button on the screen and the time will appear.
6. Set the time. Press AUTO DIAL / STORE to save your changes.
7. Lift the handset and put it down to exit program mode.

If you are using this phone on a Panasonic KX-TDA 30/100/200/600 system. From the Switcboard / Main telephone or Managers phone with the handset on the cradle/hook press Program * * or Program * # followed by the system password ( default is 1234). Now press 004 and then ENTER. Enter the extension number you want to change. Now enter the name (the same way as texting on a cellphone) To save the changes press AUTO DIAL / STORE. To go to the next extension press NEXT on the screen. When you are done lift the handset and put it down to exit program mode.
