It sounds like the high voltage transformer is bad.

Hi Robin, As the battery is new and presumably not defective, I think you should suspect the soloniod fitted to the starter motor. If that component has become defective it will give the sound you're reporting. Depending on where you live in the world and the labour charges, you can have the contacter's replaced or the starter motor (if labour charges are high) Regards John

If you will look I bet you'll find a switch on the back of the TV for internal or external speaker. It's probably gotten switched to EXT. somehow.

It just plugs in and try cleaning contact switches first with contact cleaner see if this fixes it.

I had the same problem with mine. There are two voltage capacitors in there. A low and high. The hig voltage is bad. I had to have mine in the shop. Cost about $400

It almost has to be a power supply problem, probably in the high voltage stages... Regulator, Horiz. Output.

The lead going from the flyback to that other device is a voltage divider or splitter as they're incorrectly referred to... To remove the leads press down firmly, twist and then pull up...
