You can view panoramic pictures on the computer. If your panoramic pictures have not been combined, their is software that can do that for you. Here is a free panorama stitching software from microsoft that you can try:

Don't see time/date stamp on my pictures when viewed on computer or printing

Your camera won't deface your photos by scribbling a string of numbers across them. The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

My olympus e volt 500 will not display image when in shoot mode

There is a little button on the back, marked 'info'. Press it to switch from picture view to settings view. It also operates the viewfinder.

Olympus also has a good photo editing program that is free and it allows you to edit photos and stitch pictures taken pn panoramic mode into one panoramic picture. It's called Olympus Master.

Of course you need a software.
Download IrfanView (this is a free download. and I recommend CNET for downloads) and install it. Use 'Create Panoramic image...' menu option.

Panoramic pictures??

A panoramic photo on 35mm film is just cutting off the top and bottom. even if you can't set the camera that way, you can ask your local photo store to print any shot that way for you. Usually 2x the price of 4x6.

Red lines

It seems that you have been selecting Panoram view to shoot photos. Go to menu and change the image options and select SHQ or whatever and not panorama. This should solve the problem. Panorama view shows the grid lines all over the screen and it is meant for taking 360 degree panoramic views.
