Depending on the model, it's not usually that hard. Attacking from underneath, what you will find on many models is atht there is a panel at the bottom that ALMOST looks like you can remove it, but it is ni fact solid and the "panel" is in fact part of the bottom of the machine, linked to it by a few bits of solid metal where most of it is free. Personally, I just snip through the bits of metal. and either make up a screw plate to hold it in place later or (If you are absolutely sure no prying fingers are getting near it) leave the thing off (I DO NOT advise you to do that though).

Once you have access then the motor is usually held in place by 3 or 4 screws and has a convenient plug and socket that you can pull and re-plug the new unit.

Strange one here, The turntable in my Microwave wont turn off, even after timer runs out and micro shuts down when you open the door the turntable just sits there and spins without a care in the world

Power to the turntable motor is supplied by a relay mounted on the main control board ( the part behind the control panel). Sounds like the relay contacts are stuck in the closed (on) position. You can try getting to the main board and tap the small box looking parts on the board with something like a screwdriver handle and see if you can get it to unstick. If that doesn't work---board needs replaced.

My sharp microwave/convection oven come on, clock counts down but it does not heat nor does the turntable turn. About a week ago the breaker was tripped by it I think but it was fine until now. It doesn't...

Hi,

It sounds like one of the door micro switches is bad. There are three micro switches typically. A primary interlock, a secondary interlock and a monitor switch. It is most likely the primary or secondary interlock switch. You may need to take your switches to a professional appliance shop to determine which one is bad.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

With this oven being a combi ventilation and extraction is important, the haze across the plate is
surplus heat, It not cooking but what you hear is the extraction fan running until the oven cavity has cooled down

Turntable will not turn

If everything works, light and micro heating.. then I have 4 possibles for you to check... 1st make sure you don't have a button that allow you to turn the turntable on/off... 2nd take the glass table out and check the center plastic spinner(pull it out) and see if its broken. 3rd your turntable motor is bad, and 4th the relay for your turntable on control board is bad... helpfully that will do it for ya.. good luck.. mike

Sharp 1505 over counter microwave

It's almost certainly not a switch issue. If the primary interlock (lower door switch) were bad, the turntable and cooling fan would not come on and it would not heat.

If it heats, but the turntable won't work, the motor is likely bad.

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven. In some brands, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

We have the complete service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.
