I saw your post and you are asking if there is a software where in you want to make your digital recorder accessible to be able to recover your files.
Follow this link and select the Version of windows your Computer has to be able to access you files again on from your Digital Recorder.
I checked and there is no other software that can access you digital recorder since Sony has format that can only be access by using a Sony software.

Hi James I double checked info about the Memory cannot be recovered, I do not see info regarding that the memory cannot be recovered but if the files are still in the device i believe installing the software of sony on your windows again may be able to at least detect the device and most probably the files in the memory of it as well.
Give it a go on the software installation from Sony lets Find out if this will get things running again for you and your device.

Thank you but I need to make sure you understand that I have the ICDPX720 not the ICDP620. It just closest model I could find that was listed. I'll give it a try but I have heard that the ICDPX720 uses flash memory which cannot be recovered. Do you know if this is true or not?

I have that software and there is nothing that show how to recover files. When I hook up the device to the PC and access this software it shows nothing in the recorded folders. I think all may be lost here but thanks for you help.
