Question about Brother HL 5050 Laser Printer
A laser printer and a computer should NEVER be on the same power strip. Startup on a laser printer causes so many power spikes and fluctuations, I'm amazed it hasn't blown the power supply on the computer, or killed the computer entirely.
If you have to have the printer and the computer on the same power line, add a UPS into the mix, plugging the computer in to it. This will allow the UPS to filter the power and make up for any shortfalls. A basic UPS is cheap insurance.
