We think oil for the engine of our Devap 2600 PSI 50 Gas-Powered Pressure Washer #DVH2600, Honda 5.0 EXH2425 was put in the wrong spot... in the unlabeled orange-cap opening, not the small grey "oil" cap on side near bottom. When started, ran momentarily, then brown (oil?) came out of nozzle, then stopped. Yikes! How do we get the oil out of where it was put...? Will need to first put oil in the correct place?

To evacuated the oil from what I believe is the gas cap area, you are going to need some type of a siphon pump to remove the oil. A total engine tear down might be needed depending on where all the oil is. Remove the spark plug, and turn the engine over, if you are getting oil coming out the spark plug hole, then you are going to have to either tear down the engine, or leave the engine sitting in a way that you can drain all of the oil out of the system. If no oil comes out of the spark plug hole, then you should be good to go once you siphon out all the oil

No, oil was NOT put in the gas cap nor engine. It was put in what I think is the pump oil port (not the engine oil). The orange cap is on the pump, next to a label that specifies the type and quantity of pump oil to be used and the recommended frequency of adding oil. We did put this type of oil here. So perhaps I was wrong that the oil needs to be removed.

The brown discharge from the nozzle when we attempted to begin spraying with water made us think that. After resting, subsequent attempts to restart the engine are not successful.

Motor runs but no water pumps through

It's possible that the 'unloader' in the pump is plugged. A local small engine repair shop can replace it (generally under 50 bucks). Of coarse you have the hose hooked up to it and the water on.

I have got a Devap dvh2600 pressure washer. It has started leaking water badly from inside the pump casing. Can the pump be dismantled? Otherwise I may be able to get a complete new pump unit

yes pump can be taken apart but when you do it will be to your best interest to rebuild with new valves and o rings. Be sure to check the housing and make sure it isn't cracked. If it is cracked throw it away and get a new pump.

Have a honda 5.0 hp engine on a pressure washer model belive is a de 1504 not sure of make, starts if you use starting fluid but then dies, getting gas to the bowl at botttom of carb but not to carburator

Hi there mburns44 i believe your problem is either that either the Air/Fuel mixture is too rich and causing it to flood or you have clogged jets. carburators are tricky and often times need to be cleaned or adjusted by a professional. I hope that this helps :)

How do you change the oil?

The pump on this unit doesn't use oil so you won't have to worry about the oil on that.

The engine oil can be changed though and is very easy to do. If you look to where the engine is mounted to the frame of the machine there is a oil plug on the bottom side that you can remove with a 12mm wrench. You are going to want to have something to catch the oil under the machine, I would recommend a gallon of milk with the top cut off.

Motor seems to be locked up!!!!!!!!

It may be your engine, but it may also be the water pressure. Try this: Hold the trigger down while pulling the recoil starter. This acts as an unloader for the pressure washer, and may allow the engine to turn over. There is also an oil level in the pump as well as the engine. Check both levels.
Just a thought, but I've been there. Best regards, W/D
