$orry, theres no fix to this, after a while batterys begin to die and the life becomes shorter. this could be due to leaving it on charge all day and night and not letting it frequently loose and gain charge again. even my laptop battery has began to lose its battery length - but ive had my battery for a long time. purchase a new battery and try to keep from leaving the A/C adapter in over night. you should notice alot longer battery length after that. rate me :)

How can I fix a possible short in Bright Starts Ingenuity Cradle and Swing?

Sounds like a short n wiring. Was it plugged into wall outlet or running on batteries? Did u smell any burning? Or like warm, hot plastic? If it's ran on batteries or if it is a .wall plug, but there was no smell. U might b able to open it up and locate a lose, disconnected or old and or fauly wire. Which u could reconnect if still good. If faulty, then splice, replace, reconnect. That would b, if lucky. If your not and or it was a short, then it's likely to have burned up the motor, which is more likely if it was a wall plug.

Will not power load during power failure

10.3v during test, BAD THIS.
night lite is 1/4watt LED , useless (mostly) as a test use 100watt desk lamp (old skool(sic) not led)
the kind of lamp that burned grandma's hand/ see?

that battery is no good
or was never charged up up but 13.7v proves it was.(kinda)
a battery has many failure mode.
one is dead (0v)
or at 10vdc all the time cell shorted or dead open cell 1 of 6)
or acts like 6 , hearing aid batteries, in series. and 100% end of life and useless now and common after 3 year old or discharged deep 300 times, in your mind imagine old cells , shrinking !
not dead, not good but shrinking and amp/hour is not 7 but 10 times less, called EOL, end of life.
dead
weak
shorted
intermittent
and all are EOL (bat 101 end)

always try new batteries
or learn how to bench test hem ask. the old car lamp test.

Any tips on extending the life of a Macbook Pro battery?

My suggestion would be to buy a new battery.

After that you should shut down your computer at night (or every other night) and make sure you don't leave it plugged in for a long time (only charge until it is 100% then unplug).

These are two of the most important things towards ensuring significant battery life.

Hope that helps!

Notebook shut down and does nto coem back on. No life at all. it has done this isn the past but only lasted a short time. ti acts liekt he battery is dead yet it is never off the wall cahrger.

This could be the cause of your battery dieing and you may have to replace your battery. This happend to my laptop. Try keeping the laptop always plugged in, or replacing your battery, or try contacting geek squad or your local retailer.

Hope this helps ^^. Please dont forget to rate, Thanks

Battrey problems

Battery life estimates vary in accuracy, and are based on algorythms comparing the output of the battery over time. As batteries age, this becomes less and less accurate. Since this is a 100L, if using the original battery, the battery has exceeded it's useful life and will likely have a short functional battery life. (I have an Inspiron 700m with it's original battery, and I get maybe 30 minutes from it, the meter will say 40 to 50 minutes remaining when it dies) Due to the design of a portable battery, which maintains a high output till exhausted, older batteries with short lives don't aid in battery time estimates.

In short, for a accurate battery life prediction, replace the battery.

Battery life is very short

Not really. What happened is you shorted the life of the battery by always having it plugged in and in a charging state. The battery has a memory and since it's always been plugged in, it will never charge fully. There are products out there that will drain your battery down and reset the memory issue. But it would be cheaper to get another battery. If you are going to keep it plugged in the majority of the time, charge up the battery and remove it.
