HI, unfortunately I lost the power adapter of my Gemini FX 7000. I want to replace it with a universal power adapter with the accurate voltage but the connector is quite weird for a power supply (RJ 45) and there is no details about how it is connected inside. So do you have any ideas about how I can change the connector of a universal power adapter so it can work with mu unit? thanx

Don't even think of using a universal adapter !!! I could not find the schematic of this unit, but other Gemini mixers like this use center tapped AC power transformers. Any universal adapter will be DC, not AC. I have found that the FX7000 indeed uses an 18 VAC adapter... Try this as a source:

Replacing ac power adapter.

If the polarity, voltage, and amperage are the same, there is no reason that you cannot use this device as an alternate.

Digitech rp3 fx pedal too much voltage wont turn on

Usually the manuf. have diodes used as protection against over voltage or adapter polarity issues. Try the correct adapter (sleeve and tip have specific voltage polarity...check for drawing denoting each) and if it fails to power the unit up, it's probably time for Digitech authorized repair.

My digitech rp 500 has power supply but it won't

Make sure you have the OFFICIAL Digitech power adapter. Universal adapters or those for MOST other pedals will NOT work... things may light up but you will NOT get audio. This unit requires an adapter supplying 9 VAC (not DC) at about 1 amp. These AC output adapters are not very common and people get the units without an adapter and try using universal adapters and they do not work. An AC adapter is used by Digitech so they can generate both plus and minus voltages internally. I don't know what your utility power voltage is in Cebu, so you need to get an adapter for your voltage that will give 9 VAC output and fit the power jack on the unit.

Gemini FX 7000 DSP effects no longer working, aparently a blown i.c, but which one?

A lot of the effects chips run off of the +5 volt or +3.3 volt power source while a lot of the audio is off +/-12 or 15 volts. Sometimes loss of the +5 causes loss of the effects. Check that before assuming a chip is gone.

I was using a universal AC/DC adapter with my Boss MicroBR, and when I powered it on there was a small plume of smoke. Now it won't work with any AC adapter. I hate using batteries, because it drains a...

Rechargeable batteries CANNOT be used in this, ONLY alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries are ACTUALLY lower volltage (about 1.25 instead of 1.5) that is very near the cutoff point for operation so even fully charged rechargeables last only minutes. Sorry you used "universal" adapter because either you chose wrong polarity or too high a voltage and fried the internal voltage regulator. It is repairable by repair facility.

I bought a Line6 M13 stompbox in the US and brought it across to South Africa. When i plugged it in using a Line6 PX-2 power adapter and an international converter....the pedal worked fine but started to...

The PX-2 should work fine as long as you are on 120 or 110 volt service. If you have 220 volt power, you have done damage... likely to the PX-2 and probably to the power input circuits of the M13.
If you are on 220, then you need to use a TRANSFORMER type voltage reducer before going to the PX-2. If you are on 220, then replace the PX-2 and take the M13 in for service replacement of parts where the power comes in and is regulated.

Hi.why my zoom g1x has no power.im using a universal adator...i am in phillpines.power volts here..220 volts.how is the setting of my adaptor then?

I have a ZOOM GX1XN and it doesn't like universal adapters much. Using one with the wrong voltage or polarity may permanently damage your pedal. Try to obtain a proper ZOOM AC adapter (part number AD-0006 or AD-16) if possible. These are dual voltage and will work equally well with both 220 and 110 volts. Failing that you need an adapter that will give a DC (direct current) output of 9 volts at 0.5amps - maximum 4.5 watts. The outer contact (sleeve) of the adapter needs to be positive (+ve) and the inside contact negative (-ve). Lots of universal adapters are the other way around with the sleeve being negative - but some have a multi-connector on the end with both positive and negative sleeves.
