Having problem with getting hotmail passing my name & password

Hi, Resetting password in Hotmail is a little tricky. Here are the steps that you can do:
  • Go to the Windows Live Hotmail Reset password page
  • Type the Email address that you want to reset
  • Carefully type the captcha characters on the box
  • Click next or continue
  • Answer the account information and answer the secret question.
  • Click continue.
  • (IT would be advisable to change your password periodically to avoid issues with the password.)
  • If Hotmail still log you into your account automatically and you want to change your (forgotten) password, click Send yourself a password reset e-mail message. and click Send Message.
  • If you have provided an alternate email (try creating a temporary alternate email address to retrieve the email to reset your password) for your Windows Live Hotmail account, you can also send the password reset email to that address. Choose Send yourself a password reset e-mail message. and click Send
  • IT will ask some information about your location (in case your out of the country) and update the secret question and secret answer. and continue.
  • now you should be able to enter a new password, confirm the new password and continue then done.
Some of the options vary in location. Hope this tips will help you log in again. Cheers!!

I dont know where to find my secret question for my xbox 360

If you go to the Hotmail website you will see 'Forgot your password?' link under where you would normally enter your password.

From here you input your e-mail address, the security code generated and the next section will give you 2 options on how to reset your password :

Use my location information and secret answer to verify my identity
or
Send password reset instructions to me in e-mail

If you know your secret question you can input in there and hopefully you can then reset your password.

If not then you'll have to e-mail Windows Live customer services regarding this situation and they'll probably ask obscure questions like :
- If you have MSN messenger contacts and if so who are they
- If you've used an Xbox 12 Month Prepaid Card what is the Serial number
- What were your recent emails, recent contacts via email etc,
- IP Address when logging in to the account or of your 360.

Ok, go to http://hotmail.com
Click "Forgot my password"
- Enter your secret answer and then it should tell you your new password.

If you have an alternate email, ask hotmail to send this to your other email, and that'll contain the password. I hope this helped.

Cannot sign in to my hotmail email account, have forgotten password and the forgot password link is unhelpful as it sends an email to you on how to change your reset your password but how can i access this...

To reset your password by providing location information and the answer to your secret question:
  1. On any Windows Live ID site or service sign-in page, click Forgot your password.
  2. Enter your Windows Live ID (The e-mail address and password that you use to sign in to Windows Live programs and services such as Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger; Microsoft services such as Xbox, MSN, and Office Live; and anywhere else that you see the Windows Live ID logo.) , type the characters you see in the Picture box, and then click Continue.
  3. Click Use my location information and secret answer to verify my identity.
  4. In the Country/Region list, select the name of your country or region , select your state, and then type your ZIP code ( The postal code system that is used in the United States. The ZIP code consists of a series of digits that are added to a postal address. The ZIP code is used to identify each postal delivery area for the purpose of sorting mail.) or postal code ( A series of letters and/or digits that are added to a postal address and used by the postal service for the purpose of sorting mail.) if you’re prompted to do so. In the Question area in the Secret Answer box, type your answer to the question.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Enter and confirm a new password, and then click Continue.
  7. If prompted, enter an alternate e-mail address (An alternate e-mail address is a secondary e-mail address registered with your Windows Live ID credentials. In the event that you forget your password, you can request to have the password reset information sent to your alternate e-mail address.) and click Continue, or click Skip to bypass this step.
  8. On the You've changed your password page, click Sign in to Windows Live.

I have forgotten my msn password and despite trying all the obvious answers i can't find the right answer to my secret question. I have another msn email account under the same name so i can verify that...

You have 2 options here:

1. If you supplied an alternate email address, select that instead of providing answers to questions on the forgot your password link. This will email a password reset email to that email address.

2. Contact MSN and see what you guys can do. They will have you verify information. Go to this link:

to report a problem.

Getting my msn messeger password back

Passwords seem to be a hot topic among MSN Hotmail users. Apparently people lose them frequently, because I get a lot of questions relating to password loss and theft.
If you've simply forgotten your password, MSN Hotmail does provide at least one level of back-door that you can use to recover it - your alternate email address or secret question. If you don't have those, you're probably out of luck.
Here's the approach to take when you've lost your password....

If your sign in to Hotmail fails, notice that there's a link immediately below the password field:
hotmail-passport-forgot.jpg Click on that, and you'll be taken the "match the picture" question:
hotmail-match.jpg This dialog exists solely to prove that you are human ... current technology makes it extremely difficult for computer to examine that picture and understand the letters that are displayed within it. It's not always that easy for humans either! But the point is to prevent computer programs from being written which can try to guess passwords in some high-speed automated fashion ... you have to prove you're human first.
Assuming you are human, you're then given two options:
hotmail-reset2.jpg If you've configured Hotmail with an alternate email address, as I strongly recommend you do, you can have Hotmail email you at the alternate address a special message with a link that will then allow you to select a new Hotmail password.
Since most people having problems are using Hotmail as their only email address (another practice I strongly discourage), we'll go the other route and click on "Provide account information and answer your secret question." (If you don't know the answer to your secret question, see the related articles below.)
You'll then see this screen:
hotmail-secret.jpg Enter the requested information exactly as you answered it when you set up the account. Assuming you get it correct, you'll then be taken to the Create a Password screen:
hotmail-password-create.jpg Once your password has been changed, if you do not have an alternate email address, Hotmail will prompt you to optionally create one:
hotmail-alternate.jpg And you're done!
