Have a Yamaha FX 1000 Waverunner - 2005 year. The speedometer doesn't read correctly. It reads too high. I should only be able to do 50 - 55 mph at best on this one. I reach 80 - 82 mph which is impossible. I changed the speed sensor thinking this was the issue. Unfortunately, the display still reads too high. Any other fixes?

The problem may be the Electrical - Powertrain control - Vehicle speed sensor, which is easy to replace but why should you have to pay for it if that is the problem. A GMC mechanic inform me that water is he main cause for its failure.

There are others who have call a GMC Service Rep to have it fix, which i will try first.

yes yes yes the new yamahas foul plugs like crazy i dont know if it is a valve defect or what but you will be changing them every year one trick i have been doing to my coustmers watercraft and has been working well insead of ngk cr9eb plugs use a cr8eb it is a hotter plug there for it will burn better and no it will not hurt your ski trust me i have over 15 yrs ex and 6 in r&d research and design

I have a Yamaha fx 1100 that starts real slowly the battery is fully charged but the bike sounds like its not got alot of power going to the starter can anyone help solve this also battery terminals are clean and not corroded

I dont know the answer but my vx deluxe is doing the same thing. Not as bad as yours but 4k rpm idle.....ANyone?
