whoa, mine just starting doing that too. Today on a run it just started flashing through the 3 screens and I couldn't turn it off. It kept logging the run so I kept going. Then it would stop flashing sometimes during the run and I'd press the up or down arrow and it'd start flashing again. Now it's in the cradle and I can't sync it up but the battery is charging. Any ideas how to fix this?
The battery status only shows up when the satnav is disconnected from the charger. Your first charge should be a continuous charge until the battery is full. This can be done by connecting it to your computer for 8 hours approximately or 4 hours to your car cigarette lighter socket or 4 hours to an, optional extra, mains charger.
It sounds like your Garmin Nuvi is stuck in "computer" mode. Try resetting it. Here's how: Without plugging it in to anything, turn it on. Open the GPS antenna and look behind it for the "Reset" button. Press it firmly. It should restart. Then try it in your car and see if that solves it.
If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the software. To do that, plug it into your computer with the USB cable. Then go to http://www.garmin.com On the web site, first register your product if you haven't done that yet. Then look for "Support" and follow their instructions for updating your software.
A third possibility is that your car adapter is bad. Try replacing it. (Try this after the first two ideas because you'll have to spend some money, and this might not solve it either.)
The old used battery was probably not used for a long time and in time, completely discharged and died. It can't be brought back. I don't know why your camera won't turn on with the original battery.
This has happened to me also, therefore I never start the location I am going to untill I am in the car ready to go,I turned the unit off, then on and went to my favourites and touched my location again, worked for me,good luck.I keep all the locations I am going to now or in the future in favourites, saves time.
There are thee ways to charge the Garmin 750, 1: thru a car cord that plugs into the base that your unit mounts on. 2. Thru an AC charger. 3: thru the USB port on the Garmin unit itself. In your case the car cord plugs into the base that mounts your unit to the window. If that is not working, check that you are getting power from your car receptical. Check by plugging your Phone in or buying an adapter at Radio Shack that checks it. Also check the plug that goes into your car recepticle. Your manual tells how to check the fuse that is located in the end of the plug. If neither of these work your mount connection is bad. Hope this helps
Does the unit turns on while pluged into the computer? If the answer is yes, then you will need to replace the battery. The battery is not taking a charge.
If it does not turn on when you plug it into the computer, yes, it sounds like you may have a dead battery. Your best bet would be to contact Garmin as to how to get it replaced.
