My LG LSC 26905TT Refrigerator started to heat up around the outside of the freezer side/top and center bar between the fridge and freezer. The freezer is not freezing no matter how high we set it or the fridge. The heat is quite hot to the touch.

LG side by side Model LSC 26905

Insulation does not melt - gaskets may be affected by hot temps.

Your condenser coils may be located on sides of fridge. If so the unit will be warm to the touch on the outside.

Refrigerator not cold

You say refrigerator SIDE not cold? You would expect the outside panels of a refrigerator to be around room temperature or warmer as the fridge removes heat from inside the cabinet and expels it outside. If you mean the inside of the fridge is not cold then check the door seals are sealing correctly around the door frame. You could also check that there is nothing inside the fridge protruding and therefore inhibiting the closure of the door correctly.

LG Refrigerator side by side suddenly not working at all other than interior lights.

If you're lucky, it's just the capacitor on the motor. Have it checked, but be prepared to need a new compressor.

Front metal , top heating element very hot

This should be OK. There are heat strips placed behind the door frame to prevent sweating around the door frame due to the metal being cold normally without the strips. Thanks, Sea Breeze

How do i remove the water filter

The filter will come out attached to the cover .. look inside the cavity . there should be a space there for the filter .. the ones at the top of the fridge are quite small compared to the ones that go at the bottom on some fridges. Most appliance or building supply stores will have replacement filters on hand .. have your make and model number to get the correct replacement., or the old filter ..
