Oven broke-ge spectra XL44 made by LG profile

Hi my name is grant,

Ge Spectra. oven BAKE won't work. Everthing else works fine. Even broiler. I hear a click when i press start to begin heating oven. I never smell gas. I unplugged the thing 7 times. vaccummed the circuit borards.

The brolier storage pan was off track and maybe collided with the gas valve parts behind it? This is the second time this happened. The first osmosis fixed it.

check your Measure oven temperature sensor circuit at oven temperature sensor (should be approx 1100 ohms at room temp); check for cut or pinched wire or loss of contact and /or Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Same here, my wife freaked cause Christmas turkey took 6hrs.
I read somewhere that its internal thermostat. GE should offer to look into this seemingly wide spread problem

Hello ,
Welcome to fixya.
I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,

You asked, is there anyway to bypass the oven lock or bypass the self cleaning mode to get oven working?

Why do you need to do this?

If the door lock is stuck in closed position and preventing you from using the range?
You may free this by following this procedure.

Threat it like an error code.

This can reset the system.
Turn the breaker off to cut the power for 5 minutes.
Then restart the breaker and try the range.

It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects most problems!.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.

If this does not remedy the problem, then the lock switch itself is bad and if you think you can bypass it then you may as well change it. Same labor!!.
Let me know how it works out.

Huuum

GE Profile XL44 range

I think it's the ignitor.   Ours has been doing a very slow lighting for quite a while.  I found if I did a cleaning cycle it seems to work a little better... otherwise a new ignitor  ( Ours is gas )...  now it is flashing the probe and bake lights alternately and will not turn the oven on at all....  not so impressed at this point.....

GE Spectra Range/Oven XL44

Resettle the small center tops on the burners. If even one is slightly off center or not level, a burner will not light, although it will click. Cost me a service call to learn this!
