I have a Casio Exilim EX-Z100 digital camera and has now developed a problem. When on photo or video mode the monitor screen is blank and the image taken is completely blank, however all other functions work fine, flash works when needed, audio is recorded during records just no image. Please advise.

Your computer uses a different writing system than you camera does...therefore, your camera cannot recognize the files your computer wrote to the card.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
Try to check on ebay, you may find the LCD with backlight just less than 30 bucks. To replace the LCD kit is easier to replace only backlight, and it's hard to find the backlight.
Try resetting ur camera.
in record mode press menu.
got to setup tab
go up to reset
press right arrow
highlight reset
press set
If that doesn't work u will have to send it in to their repairs dept.
