There are a few basics you can check.

1) Check that the back of the tray is mated to the mechanism in the back of the freezer compartment that normally houses your auger. Usually if the tray will go all of the way back it means it has matched up properly, but to ensure it is depress the ice dispenser trigger on your freezer door and make sure that the ice is coming out properly.

2) Check the slots that the cubes fall from into the ice basket. Sometimes there will be small pieces of ice that have not cleared out of the slots. The system will not allow anymore water to pour into the housing unit if there are any ice shards caught in the slots.

3) Ensure that the filter that your ice water travels through is not full and due for a change. Some ice units will not allow anymore ice to be made if the filter needs to be swapped out.

4) If possible check to make sure that there are no kinks in the water delivery hoses. If there is a kink big enough no water will flow through the hose.

5) Beyond these basics you may have to get a fridge tech to check out the tech servicable parts. There might be a problem in one of the control boards.

Ice Maker bar won't come down

I have not worked on this model before but on the whirlpool they have a bar as well. you can turn off ice maker by pushing it up and it locks in place to stop ice production. if u want it to make ice u push it up slightly and it should move down. also check the ice maker tray to be sure u are getting water to the tray. if u get the bar to go down and no water comes in then check that u have water at the back of fridge.. if u have water there but not in the tray then you may have a bad water inlet valve on back of fridge.

Frigidaire FRS6LR5E ice maker won't stop making ice

Ice maker wire signal arm is being held down by some item in the freezer. Move item and release wire signal arm. Any ice cubes that are frozen together over the wire signal arm. the ice rises in the ice bucket and pushes the wire signal arm up and this is what stops ice production as ice is used then arm comes down and starts ice production all over again. if there is nothing holding arm down then you will need to replace ice maker.

Ice maker not working

my icemaker has a wire overfill sensor which shuts off the icemaker if there is too much ice in the basket. If this wire gets pushed up it will stop making ice until level lowers OR manually lowered.

When is ice maker activated ;with bar up or down ??

The bar will sense ice cube level in the holding bin. If it is all the way down it will tell the ice maker to make more ice. When the maker "dumps" the ice the bar should be all the way up and will lower to check the level.

Well, that wire is likely the cause of your issue, somebody probably bent it, and now it gets caught on the door or a basket or a food item or what have you, and since it cannot move, the ice maker will not make ice.

You may have an issue with one or more of the following:

* icemaker
* dispenser actuator
* ice chute door assembly
* ice dispenser solenoid (if the solenoid is stuck in an open position, the ice chute door/flap would remain open allowing cold air to escape).

Contact an appliance service company.

Ice maker will not stop sending ice out of door

If your refrigerator has a wire bar that raises and lowers as ice cubes are ejected. Make sure the bar is not trapped or frozen in the down position. This will cause the ice maker to continuously make ice.
Usually pulling the wire bar all the way up the ice maker will stop.

If not, you may have a bad switch and will need this replaced.
Good luck!

Crosley side by side ice maker makes to much ice !!!!!!

Most ice makers have a wire bar that senses when the ice bucket is full. The bar lifts up when new ice is made. The ice maker determines if the ice bucket is full by lowering the bar back down after the ice drops into the bucket. If the bar hits the ice cubes in a full bucket, the ice maker shuts off. If the bar drops all the way and dosen't touch ice cube, the ice maker continues making ice until the bucket is full.

So you likely have one of the following problems:
1) The wire bar is missing or bent. Check to make sure that when the bar is pushed up, the ice maker stops making ice. Most bars will 'click' into the up position so you can shut the ice maker off. Push the bar up until it clicks into the up position and wait overnight to see if it makes more ice. If there is no wire bar over the ice bucket, that is your problem.

2) The switch the wire bar is connected to is malfunctioning. If you push the wire bar up and the ice maker continues to make ice, this is likely your problem. You will need a new ice maker unit. Try Appliance Parts Pros or EBay for a new unit.

Ice maker not shutting off

The icemaker should have a bar that is normally in the downward position (ie 4'Oclock) when the bin is not full. The ice falls into the collector and pushes that bar into a horizontal position (ie 3'OClock). These instructions are normally on the ice dispenser section. If the bar is not being pushed up then the icemaker does not know to stop. My only suggestion would be to empty completely the ice maker bin and check that the bar can be pushed from one position to the other. If this happens then try turning on again. I hope this is of some if not much help and good luck.
