If you backed up your iPod in iTunes before it synced with your iPod you may be able to restore your songs. In iTunes, plug your iPod into the computer and right click on your iPod when it appears in iTunes. You should see a Restore Backup or similar choice in the Right Click menu. Try restoring the backup. If this doesn't work, you won't be able to recover your music.

All of a sudden after 2 years annot get my iPod to appear on computer. A sign comes up that says "The iPod "Lois' iPod" is synced with another iTunes Library. Do you want to erase this iPod and sync with...

This happens some times the computer has lost the record that the ipod was synced with this computer.

Because the ipod can only be synced with one computer at a time your are getting this message.

if you look in your itunes music library and all the muisc is still there then choose the "erase and sync option" this will erase the ipod and re- sync with this computer -

if your muisc is gone you have a much larger problem you need to search your computer for your missing music then add it back to itune when you find it by :

In itunes you go to the upper left to : File > add Folder to Library > and choose the folder the music is in this will re- add your music to the libray then you can " "erase and sync"

If all you music is gone off your computer a only on your ipod your going to have to download a free ipod rip program to remove all you muisc and put it back into your library. there are free ones you can downalod but they are hard to find I have used www.ipodrescue.com and it worked for me

good luck !

Being 58 years old bought a nano ipod for my wife want to put music on it dont understand what to download to be able to use it ?

The first thing that you should do is download itunes from the apple website at www.apple.com/itunes once installed open up itunes and then plug in the supplied usb cable into the ipod and the other end into your computer. From itunes you can then go onto the apple store and buy music from the store or if you have music on CDs you can use itunes to pull the CDs onto your computer and from itunes and clicking on the devices section you can transfer the music onto your ipod. Hope this helps.

Ipod 1gb nano

When you plug it in to your computer, you should see an option in iTunes to synchronize it with your current library. Press "Yes" and the existing music will be erased.
You should be able to turn it off by holding down the "Play" button and turn it on by pressing the "Play" button.
If this fails, you can restart the device by holding the "Menu" and "Select" buttons for 6-10 seconds until it restarts.

Then plug in the MP3 player, and once iTunes finds the device, add music to it from the library you already have, or by purchasing music from the Itunes Music Store.

I want to erase music of my ipod nano

Go to itunes and click on a song that you want to delete and press the delete button on your keyboard and it will ask you if you are sure you want to delete this song from all playlists and off the ipod and click yes and it will delete. Unfortunately, it will not let you delete it from the ipod menu without connecting it to a computer.
