I have one of those watch winding machines. It has three settings. Which one is appropriate for this watch? Also, does it damage a watch if you have it on the wrong setting? Thanks.

How to set date and time of the Armani watch, AX1071

Pull the right post out. It may first have to be unscrewed to unlock it. Pull it out one click to set the date, two clicks to set the time. I recommend setting the time first and go all the way past 12 to see if you are on AM or PM (the date will advance or won't). Set the time correctly, then push the stem in one click and set the date. Push the stem in all the way and then turn it to wind. You can't over wind an automatic watch but always use gentle pressure to avoid damage.

Winding stem comes all the way out and I can't reset the time

The Rolex time change is done after three clicks when you pull the winder. If the winder can actually be pulled out of the stem (separate) the damage is serious.
Sorry. Only an authorized dealer can get the parts for it to be repaired.

How do I wind up my tag carrera automatic using the crown??

Wow, how wrong yall are.

There are three positions for the Carrera's push-down crown. The inner position is used for normal wear and winding. To wind the crown manually, simply rotate it clockwise.

Changing the date on the Carrera is done from the middle crown position. Turn the crown clockwise to advance the date, one day at a time. Push the crown back to the inner position when finished.

The outer crown position is used for setting the time. You can turn the crown in this position either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Adjust the time forward or backwards. Setting the time backwards will not damage the watch. When the time is correct, press the crown all the way into the inner position.

Hello, I was watching shopnbc and heard salesman describing winding the mainspring for automatic prodiver which I attempted as described. Screwed myself out of a working watch (lol)! Can I fix myself?...

the crown/ winder has three positions
unwind the crown nad pull out slightly is for winding the watch.
position two pull out slightly more it should adjust the date .
and then finally position three fully pulled pout will adjust the time.

If it does not do this then is possibly the winder pivots broken/faulty.

If the watch is not worn for a day, is it normal for it to stop or slow down? Vintage SS mens datejust, oyster perpetual.

mcdevito75 here, Yes it is normal, especially if your Rolex is an automatic watch. The motion of your Wrist / Hand keeps your watch wound thru the Counter balance on the movement, as the counter balance turns it winds the mainspring little by little, thus keeping your watch wound. Once you take off your watch, if long enough the mainspring simply un-winds and slows and will eventually stop your watch completely. You can keep your Rolex wound even when you take it off by means of a watch winder, a small machine that will keep your watch in motion, or by hand, by rocking the watch back and firth in your hand for about 30 seconds, say before you gpo to bed at night, this way there is always some wind to your watch.

Why do all watches stop shortly after i put them on?

Tghere are really only two reasons a watch will stop unless they are damaged or wet inside. If it's a quartz watch the battery needs replacement. If it's a mechanical watch you have to wind it - even if it's a "self-winding" movement wind it to get it started. Turn the crown about 40 turns clockwise.

Pulled out the stop watch button on my daytona before it was prewound and the whole watch has ceased HELP

The stop watch buttons don't pull out. There are 2 pushbuttons. The upper one starts and stops the timing function and the lower button resets the timing function. The crown has three positions: 1st position is for winding, 2nd for date setting and 3d for time setting. Once things are set wind the watch in position one and it should run. If it does not take it to a watchmaker. You don't want to fool around with such a valuable watch.

Set time by moving it backwards, now doesn't tick.

Try setting it by moving it forward till the date changes twice and manually wind it about 40 turns. NEVER adjust the date between 7PM and 2AM as it can damage the watch.

Need switch settings for Steinhausen watch winder to suit an Omega Coaxial movement. I do not have the original manual, and I cannot tell how to set the switches to get the appropriate winding action for...

Leave the settings as for ordinary automatic movement. Co-axial movement has nothing to do with winding process - it was developed for more precise time keeping and friction reducing only, so, you can wind the watch in winder as usual.
