I thinkyou will find that the code is c0400 and not c040 if this is the case the exposure lamp is faulty if you lift up the glass see if the lamp turns on if it does not turn on take out the lamp make sure you turn of the machine and take the mains plug out of the wall do a cont check on the lamp if it is ok then you will need to change the ae sensor board pwb-h
Oh dear I thinkyou are out of luck...Try get your local PSP dealer to get you the quotations for repairs...It should turn out cheaper if your problem is not too serious.
