How do i set up my dehumidfier for continuous drain? the owners manual is not clear. i took off the rubber cap in the back & attached a 10 foot length of garden hose but the bucket keeps filling up. i did not receive any drainage hose with unit. should i run it without bucket? i think that unit will not turn on unless bucket is attached. i have read on haier website about 3 foot drainage hose which i did not receive. i tried to email them but did not receive any answer. can you help?
Many just attach the hose at the reservoir; from your description, Haier apparently has a separate location. Check that the point that the hose attaches has an opening (many don't, they expect you to drill it). It should then drain through gravity. Check to make sure that no part of the drain hose is higher than the bottom of the reservoir, otherwise it can't drain. It won't siphon because each time the the tank empties, the suction is broken and the siphoning can't continue.
mine is draining out of the direct drain but it still slowly fills bucket and sometimes overflows creating a flooded floor
Mine is draining but still slowly fills the bucket and sometimes doesnt shut off when it fills up then floods my floor, thinking I can plug the outlet that drains into the bucket ?
