I cant seem to find any downloadable software for the Sony 6GB Digital Music Player NW-A1000, I have tried getting in contact with the sony people through their actual site but keeps coming up with an error response. Could someone please direct me towards where I can download the software as it is getting frustrating not getting an answer.

get a chip that plugs on side of phone and plug chip in computer then a site frost wire download music to chip then you will have music.

Well try to google it up or check Yahoo. for ipods its normally itunes.
And theres this new bear share 7 which supports mp3 players

have you transferrd music via sonic stage 4.3 or anyother sonic  stage you cant just drag files on to it like a normal mp3 player make sure you dont disconnect when transferring too.

If you get the spinning disc error on your sony nw a1000 it means the hardrive is knackerd.
The hardrive in the sony NW A1000 is a segate ST1.2 6gb and these can be bought off ebay for around £8. If you can't find a 6gb one you can fit an 8gb hardrive BUT your NW A1000 will only use 6gb of it.

If you search on the internet you can find instructions on how to remove the back cover of your NW A1000 which is very easy to do! You then unplug the hardrive (be very careful!) and replace it with the new seagate hardrive. Turn the NW A1000 on and go to the home menu, select "settings", then select "intialize disc" and it will format your new hardrive so that it can work with NW A1000.

i scrpped NWA1000 s there was no dound output, thrown into dustbin.No point using it as 6GB harddisk(!!) in the age of 8-16GB pen drives.
