How do you eject a tape from a Tascam Porta Two ministudio? It's a quite dated model, yet there is no eject button.

I can not say more here but if you search for tape deck repair in Chicago you no doubt will come across me sooner or later.
The only other person you would be qualified would be Russ Bachmann at New Jersey Factory service. We both worked at Teac factory service facilities and rose to high ranks at those facilities.

There is a cam system in the transport and they need to be lubricated. It might cost more than $100 to fix. Sometimes the gears have rounded off teeth that you can not get anymore.

Havent find the porta 07, most simmilar I think is porta02. I suggest to go to the http://www.tascam.com and and look in right corner in same line with the menu (under- legacy products). When you choose the product an image will came. Go to the RESOURCES tab to get the manual.

Many different things could sause a problem, belts, mode switch, capacitors in capstan or head motor drive circuit. Hard to say what exactly is wrong with the machine without looking at it.

It sounds like the rubber belt drive may have broken and tangeled in the drive mechanism. If you are confident you can disassemble it far enough to see if thats what happened. You can still obtain replacement belts. If not from Tascam, then try a good electronics store. Take the belt in and they can help you match it up. Thers also a possibility that your pause mechanism id stuck.
