In order to clear off dhcp settings in any router you need to login into it and select bridging instead of ppoe. ppoe is for dhcp and bridging is for static ip.

I'm trying to set up my Nextbook Ares 8. I've selected my network and entered the password, but it will not connect. It keeps telling me that it's trying to obtain the IP address. What can I do?

What are you trying to connect to? Your own router or someone elses? If your own, then you have not set up DCHP. If someone elses, they either have not set up DCHP or they are using fixed addresses and you have to configure an address, mask and gateway. So you have to talk to the owner of the router/gateway.

How to configure huawei hg533 router for home network

William the more information you can provide the more accurate can be our brain trust community's answer.
What I have to guess is you added the cameras to an existing network.
What you need to provide is how are the camera's getting their IP addresses ?
How are the PC getting their IP addresses.
My guess
Go into the router settings and look for DCHP server. Look at the leases issued and change the IP addresses that are assigned to the cameras to Static rather than Dynamic. if the cameras are getting IP address from DHCP. server rather than being set up manually..

If you manually set up the IP addresses on the cameras then alter the available ip range on the DHCP server to avoid the IP addresses assigned to the cameras. As an example say the DCHP range was 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 then alter it to be 192.168.1.21 to 192.168.1.254 and then hence the ip addresses 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.20 are used on static ip addresses like printers and cameras devices.

How do you log into the router
go to the internet browser and type in 192.168.1.1 and it should bring up your router The user name is most likely admin and the password will be admin by default. If no one has changed them.
I have looked at the usre manual but it does not spell out how to change the DCHP ip address ranges leases out or the way to change the ip addresses leased out to static for the cameras. I think you will find some sort of setting in thew dhcp menu option of the router.

What
I think is happening is called an ip address conflict. And the above suggestions should stop this from occurring when you reboot the IP address is re assigned and the DCHP server could be issuing ip address leases to your p.cs that are already staticly assigned to your cameras.

I have netgear router in my office and its working fine but every synomious we are lossing wifi connectivity but in router all the lights are blinking so every time i have to restart the router

Best solution if a hard reset doesn't cure this then you need to do a soft reset or change the dchp to a higher value for the conflict to correct itself.SOFT reset ....first go to your routers IP address ...usually on the router but you can google it.for example netgear routers it is 192.168.0.1 then enter in lower case admin : admin sometimes you have to enter a capital A for admin.
then look for reset restart and it will fix from the ISP end which is different to just restarting router.check if you can update the firmware whilst on that page.if connectivity still drops then you next best approach is to change the dchp settings in your internet settings.for example change the number from 192.168.0 .? To 192.168.0.20 this is not the DNS but dchp.you can google this workaround.good luck.

How do i connect my WG302 to my laptop using a console cable?

if Windows
go to dosprompt on p.c or start run cmd <press the enter key>
type in ipconfig <press the enter key>
was the ip address of the laptop 192.168.0.210 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 ?
note the ip address of the laptop and the subnet mask
If the ip address is not 192.168.0.210 then go into the network settings and set the laptop up with 192.168.0.210 and then make it a static ip address.
go to dosprompt on p.c or start run cmd <press the enter key>
type in ipconfig <press the enter key>
was the ip address of the laptop 192.168.0.210 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 ? (if not restart the laptop ) and check again
Next question how did you connect the wg302 directly to the laptop was it directly connected or was it through a network switch or network hub. Most likely the Cable router or DSL router has a DCHP server assigning different ip address lease range. You can either change the ip address of the access point device to one in the original current router lease range and assign it as static for the wireless access point device in the dchp lease table or assign the wireless access point with the second ip address as an example 10.0.0.2 and make sure the router dchp server allocates above 10.0.0.20 then temporarily connect router to laptop and temporily set laptop with 192.168.0.210 and then log into access point and change ip address to 10.0.0.2 for wireless access point device and turn off its dchp server. Then change laptop to use dhcp while connected into network hub or network switch with original router and restart laptop wired back into original normal network.

I do not want wireless router to assign ip addresses for lan

not sure if you are doing it right
your wireless router has 2 "sides" one is it's upload, it's wan network and that is where you should set DHCP - so that the router itself gets an ip from your LAN
other side is behind your wireless router and there DHCP should also be off. it would be best if you could put your router in bridged mode - just to extend your network over WIFI

I have connection between my mac 10.4.11 and the zyxel router and I have connection between the zyxel router and an old compaq desktop upstairs but I cant access the internet, which is last mile. Ive...

dchp problem. sounds like the modem is doing dhcp that's why it works plug in directly. disable the dhcp server in the router go to Network > DHCP Server > General in the router and disable it. only the modem or router can do dhcp.

your internet provider provides a ip address.then configure your router to static and enter the ip that they gave to you and just set dhcp enable..then test if you have internet connection.after that setup your a password to your router.

Two routers have same Ip address......what to do?

1. Simply disabling and then re-enabling of the adapter will cause to start the DHCP process again, without uninstalling the devices.
I would enter static IP addresses in both computers and see if that eliminates the connection problem. Then set both computers back to DHCP - one after the other.
Did this help?

2. Running 250ft of Ethernet cable is almost the maximum distance you can go (300ft). The connection will never be great - too much loss on the way.
If you can go without wireless in your garage, then simply use a switch instead of a router. Switches are EXTENDING networks, while routers SEPERATE them.
I assume that both are running on the same subnet and handing out DHCP in the same range.
So...here we go...

As far as I remember is D-lInk using 192.168.0.1/24 (255.255.255.0) as it's default. Configure the IP address of the second router to be in the samesubnet (/24) as the primary router, but out of the range of the DHCP serverin the primary router. For instance DHCP server addresses 192.168.0.2through 192.168.0.100, you can assign the secondary router 192.168.0.254 asit's IP address.

Then disable the DHCP server in the second router.

Setup the wireless section just the way you would if it was the first router.

Connect from the first router's LAN port to one of the LAN ports onthe second router. If there is no uplink port and neither of therouters have auto-sensing ports, use a cross-over cable, but I think the D-links have auto-sensing installed (which means that the router can use any ethernet cable). If not, here is a good description how to make one (You can use the same cable - just cut one end off and change the cables): http://www.littlewhitedog.com/content-8.html
Important: Do not connect the WANport!

    WAN 2 dissconnects

Try check with your subnets, if your subnet on your SBS is the same as your Xincom configuration and both your SBS and XIncom is acting as a DHCP server, it might cause a conflict.
