Hi, I have installed the disc for LifeCam VX-1000 and clicked on the icon. It worked ok but the mic on it was not working. Now I click on it and nothing is working, it is not even connecting. Please help!

Please remove the webcam and then UNINSTALL the program from the PC. Now download the driver software that is applicable to the OS in your PC which is not specified by you. Now after downloading RUN the program and when it indicates to connect the webcam you can do so as it will message that a new harrdware is found . This will be installed within the PC.
if there are issues check with another PC to confirm if the webcam has errors.

1st You download Webcam Driver.
LifeCam VX-1000 After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.

How do i install this?

  • Place the product installation CD in the CD drive of your computer. The installation wizard will start automatically. Follow the installation wizard prompts.

  • Plug the USB connector at the end of the LifeCam VX-1000 connection cable into an available USB port on your computer when prompted.

  • Place the LifeCam VX-1000 on a flat, level surface, or hang it from your computer's monitor. Continue following the wizard prompts until the installation wizard finishes.

  • Click the "Start" button, then click "All Programs" on the Start menu.

  • Click the "Microsoft LifeCam" folder icon in the list of programs on the Start menu, then click the "LifeCam" icon. That opens the LifeCam VX 1000 software and completes the installation process.

    If she can hear you - your mic is fine
    The most likely cause would be her mic or your speakers - did you make your speakers default in Skype?

    You do not give much info - for example eg, Your OS and if you have a laptop you would have 2 mics
    Try setting you webcam mic as default

    The vx-1000 installed fine on to my laptop and the image/video side of things works fine but the microphone doesnt seem to be working? any solutions?

    Have you made your webcam mic the default mic ?

    If you have a laptop and a webcam you have 2 mics - you need to set your webcam mic as default.

    Need more mic volume

    Plug webcam into USB
    Right click on speaker icon in the system tray by the clock.
    Select 'Recording devices'
    Click on your mic to highlight in blue
    Click properties
    Click 'Levels' and adjust slider
    Click OK
    Click 'Playback' tab
    Click on Speaker to highlight
    Click 'Properties'
    Click 'Levels'
    Increase speaker level if low
    Click OK
