How do i clean my sim card - Nokia 2220 Cell Phone

Try taking the SIM card out and giving it a clean with a clean cloth that is not wet at all. An alternative is to contact your service provider and ask them for some advice and perhaps send you out another SIM. Is this SIM new?

Ensure internal contacts are clean, and try again. If this does not solve your problem, replace SIM Card.

Use a different SIM card and reboot, If gives the same error kindly contact Nokia Care.

Hi there, i had the same problem, device did not recognized my sim card:
1. Sim card could be damaged,
2. Sim card is too big and software not recognize it,
3. Or has been manufactured by less known manufacturer.
4. Sim card slot is dirty, try clean it with clean cotton pad, do not use water - that might damage Your device. Or use, air-spray as it used for cleaning small parts of pc, eg. keyboard, motherboard, etc.
What i have done:
Brought sim card SanDisk 16GB one, since then I have no problems with it.

Initially try by cleaning the sim card slot.
The insert sim card happen due to the problem in Sim card holder slot and the IC related to it.Contact the service center they will check the sim card slot and provide you a solution either by cleaning the slot and PCB board or replacing IC

• Clean the connectors on the SIM card with a soft brush, cloth or q-tip moistened with any type of unflavoured, colourless alcohol.
• Check whether the card is damaged or worn in any way.

If your SIM card is damaged or does not work properly after cleaning, please contact your operator to obtain a new SIM card.

Remove the SIM and clean it with soft cloth.
Try the SIM on any other Mobile phone.
You can also try another SIM card on this mobile to make sure the phone is working properly.
If another SIM card is working properly that means the SIM card you are currently using may be corrupt. Its easy to replace a SIM then replacing a phone.
Clean both SIM and phone Connectors then try to insert the SIM.

1)clean sim card with your finger, then clean sim card holder with a cotton swab. 2)if this fails, go to your local phone shop, and they will switch your number to a new sim card, or inform you that your phone is broken. P.s. do not use lquids for cleaning.

clean the sim card first and then the sim base of the phone then restore factory settings it will work
