From your cell dial 1 by holding down till it dials your voice mail. If it has not been seet up previously it will ask you to do so. The default password is usually the last four digits of your cellular number. You can also dial your cell number from another phone such as a land line and let it ring till voice mail picks up. At that time press the ( * ) astrisk key to get mail. Very handy when your phone is dead etc...

I have added a new phone to our Panasonic KX-T7030 system, I can't get it to assign a voice mail box number

Since the mail boxes are assigned in the voice mail system and a 7030 is a phone, I'd start with calling the voice mail system :-)

Mailbox 999 in a TVx system administers the system and allows you to add a mailbox.

New to system, need to set up 3 voicmail exts.

Begin with what do you have for a voice mail? If it's a Panasonic brand, you log in as administrator (mailbox 999) and create the mailboxes. It is usually done at installation, unless your installer closed them down to prevent fraud. It's option 6 1 1 and you enter the mailbox you want to create. If it exists, it will tell you so, if not, it will create one. Then follow the prompts to assign an extension to the mailbox, and give it a name.

The extension user then dials the voice mail access code and creates greetings and a name and sets the password.

Changing of password

If you have a Panasonic voice mail system, you were given 2 passwords to mailboxes 998 and 999. 998 is the message manager's mailbox, and 999 is the System Manager's mailbox. When you call into your voice mail system, press #6*999 and enter the password + #.

It may be different, but option 6 1 1 should get you to mailbox management. Enter your mailbox and one of the options will be reset password. Eaxy, huh?

Voice Mail

There are two extra mailboxes in a Panasonic brand voice mail, one for the message manager and one for the sytsem manager.
You reset passwords from the system manager's mailbox. Dial into the system and key in the codes to get to the system manager's mailbox. and select option 6 1 1 and the mailbox number. One of the options will be to reset the password :-)

Remote Access

When you call in from the outside wait for auto attendant to answer. As soon as the "Thank you for calling" starts, press [*], and your mailbox number. If that does not work you may need to put a [#], 165 before the [*], mail box. This is assuming that most voice mail and auto attendant settings are operational and you have a Panasonic KX-TVS voice mail.
If a live person (not to be confused with the living dead) answers, have them transfer you to voice mail and do the whole [#], 165, [*], your mail box thing.
